Back to the Fold
I've owned sports cars or muscle cars the majority of my life. When kids came along, more practical cars were required. So, I sold my Stealth, and bought a sedan. It's now 18 years later, and I'm celebrating my youngests's birthday by treating myself to an '03 Touring with 96k miles. Only drawback is that it's an automatic, but I'll cope. Car is going to be my daily driver, other than snow/ice periods. Liking my little Z car! Driving it reminds me So much of my '78 280Z. More refined, more power, but feels very similar. I'm a DIYer, so you'll see me on tech forums, probably getting flamed for asking stupid noob ****. Thanks for offering such a great Z community!

Can relate to this. Was out of Zs for 27 years before buying -on a whim actually - our Z34N in 2011 and my 33 a couple of years later. Felt/feels so good to have returned. (Resulted in seven years of feverish Z buying and selling!)
Funny, in 2011, was looking at P-cars until I realized that the Porsche sales droid (and dealership) was just a di*k and didn’t deserve my business and Nissan was just down the block. 🤣

Welcome and congratz! You can in fact engine-brake into corners with the 5 speed and actually shift faster than a clutch. Same reason a lot of cars are going to clutchless paddles. You have a 3.3 final drive instead of the 3.5, so slightly slower off a line but still a Z.
