Unhappy Bad Throttle Position Sensor?

I apologize in advance if there's a thread already made on this topic. I haven't found one specific to my situation quite yet.

Today I go to turn my car on and my Z revs to 5000 RPM up and down over and over again. Car ran perfectly fine before today. No check engine lights, no codes. Recently where I live it has been raining a lot (hurricane season in north carolina). I was thinking it's a bad throttle position sensor and maybe it got wet and failed? I wanted to get a few second opinions on what else it could be before I go out and buy parts.

For reference, my car is a 2005 automatic (dont worry, manual swap is coming later), 109k miles.
