Default Newbie here... Great Site!

I am currently car shopping and I have 99% decided on getting a Z in the next month or so. I stumbled upon this site doing research and have read most of the last 25 pages or so of posts. For the most part, great reading for anyone looking at buying.

I'm glad I now know the majority of the issues that might come up and have a place to find help if needed. Very nice community you all have here.

Now I just have to decide Base, Enthusiast or Touring... SB, SS, or CS.

I'd go with the CS enthusiast, but that's just me

I really think the SB is the nicest looking but my current car is black and its a big pain in the rear to keep it looking nice and I usually dont' have the time to put a lot of personal attention into my car. Its most likely that I'll go w/ SS or CS and probably enthusiast because the main reason I'd want teh Touring is for the Leather and its really sort of hot here in Miami for leather and I can always put it in later for cheaper than the $3k diff in price.

I'm so looking forward to getting it that its not even funny.

I think SS is sweet, but SB is nice if you can keep it clean, go to the detailing section to see whats involved, it seems many have this down to a perfect science

I checked out the detailing forum and I just don't have the time to keep a black car looking really nice. I wish I did because there is nothing nicer than a nice shiny black car.

If you don't have time to baby your car, then you should just get a bus pass. Hehe.

Hey looks like we got a couple things in common. I'm in Miami, and i'm new to the site, but i already got my Z.

I chose the enthusiast for several reasons. I wanted an Auto so basically that narrowed it down to the Enthusiast an the Touring. I didnt really see the Touring worth the extra 3-4 grand for just the bose and the leather. I'm planning to change my radio later on to an aftermarket and so theres no point in the bose for me. And its cheaper (and better looking in my opionion) to get custom two-tone seats.

I really like manual transmissions but my commute right now from west dade to Brickell every morning and back sucks.. about 45 to 50 min of pretty much solid traffic so I am actually considering an automatic Miami traffic is getting pretty bad... wasn't nearly as bad when I was growing up.

Getting pretty bad? ITS BEEN BAD! Traffic is the reason i got an automatic. Its gonna be another L.A. in a few years...

Yeah, it probably is. The thing is that I lived in LA from 94 to 98 and in DC from 98 to 01, so I always thought that Miami traffic was so light in comparison. Now, having been back since '01 its starting to kill me.

Another first time poster here. Currently live outside of DC and am helping my wife reseach replacement cars for her 1991 Mitsubishi 3000 GT. Syhe is leaning toward a 350Z - likely Roadster Touring....

When is the new model year for the 350Z? When are the 2005's debuted?

Jerry

PS I agree that the DC traffic is a bear. That said, it's nice to be retired and not have to contend with it.

Just ordered my first Z Monday. It will come off the boat from Japan next week!
Can't wait.
I got a new Nissan Titan three weeks ago as my company truck so the Z will be my pleasure vehicle for weekends.

Do you guys know of any Z clubs in Northwest Florida?

I think there might be one in P'cola, but I'm not sure. If you hear of any, let me know. I'm in Alabama, but it's not that far to P'cola.
