What suspension differences are present that the base 07 does not have? Is there a chart around here that covers the different years & models and their respective spring rates, sway bar sizes, etc?

not that im an expert but iirc the engine is mounted higher (hense the bulge) to give the car a more central centre of gravity and improve its poise/stability improving handling.

i dont 'think' there were any suspension changes, i could be wrong.

the engine isn't mounted higher (the VQ35HR is just taller). the nismo Z gets the nismo shocks and springs along with a nismo rear sway bar. i'd use the search tool......

I'm no expert either, but Nissan themselves state that the shocks, suspension changes, bodykit difusers (rear and front), spoiler, dampeners (Yamaha - rear and front) and structural/chassis welding makes it the best handling ever.

Not the fastest - as it has the same engine set up as a regular 2007 Z - but clearly better at cornering etc.

As a driver of both, I can state that it feels "tighter" and less likely to get away from me. Not done massive checks as not a track driver and I'm still wearing it in

It is what the Track Z should have been all along.

Please don't confuse people with your uninformed posts. You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. What you said about raising the engine would make handling WORSE.

I've been searching for hours so pardon me for asking this. Does it have spring/shock combo or some coilovers? What kind? Nismo brand? But who really makes it? If its coilovers, I would guess it would be the KW Variant 3s. Thanks for the info.

^ yeah, what the pimp said. They should. And wasn't someone or a vendor on here selling the Yamaha dampeners a while back?
Also, does anyone have a picture of the secondary strut bar?

MC do you have a pic of the front yamaha dampner as well. Looking at that rear one it looks like it will work. Is there a part number for it?

Nothing to do with the engine at all. The car has specially tuned suspension, that you can't just buy. It has stiffer sways, it has seam welds on the unibody instead of spot welds, it has torsion dampers front and rear, etc. It helps if you do a search.

The dampeners; the look like fluid filled units. How much travel do you they have? I'd assume that they would only have the need to compensate for a fraction of an inch of chassis flex, but it appears that they are capable of much more.

Or are these similar to the mass dampening units that were once used in Formula One except for lateral movement?
