Anybody seen the 2007 clutch problem on their Nismo?
Anybody seen the 2007 clutch problem on their Nismo?
I've seen it twice now, once at 650 miles and again around 1300 miles -- both times when I was slightly distracted and revving up from a complete stop, ie the RPM was higher than normal when I released the clutch, from a standstill and was in first gear.

you mean the sticking the the floor problem?
i have 1740 miles on mine and havent noticed any issues really. maybe once at 1100 miles it was a little sluggish coming back up after a hard launch but it didnt stick and hasnt repeated itself so i cant say it was an obvious example of the problem
i do know that the engage point feels different that my 03 and i need to give it more throttle from first or it will almost stall. in my 2003 i could just barely touch the pedal from a stop on this one i have to give it more gas.

yup ive forgotten that im in the new Z and not my old one i drove for almost 5 years and will just kinda let the clutch out pulling out of a parking lot just barley touching the gas and will have to push the clutch back in like a newb 16 year old to keep from stalling.
you wouldnt think so but for me it feels as different from my 2003 as a different car all together.
i like it though you can tell its brand new. i think i was just so used to my old one because i beat on it so much i knew the little nuances of it
My clutch pedal defintely stuck near the floor the last time it happened. I was in a construction zone when it happened, but I noticed a smell that was suspiciously like the smell of a new clutch being broken in (kinda smells burnt, if you know what I am talking about).
If it happens again I am going to take the car to the dealer for a little conversation. I'll have to do a little more homework to find out what people are telling the dealer service departments to get them to recognize the problem (or get them to get the proper info from Nissan).

when my clutch was slow coming back up it made the hot clutch smell aswell, but i thought since it was the first time i launched it hard after break in i was just a normal thing

i hate first gear in this thing. i can not get used to it. i have not noticed any problems though except i have had that clutch smell a couple of times, but i have not really launced it hard out of first yet. i cant say the same for the rest, i love squeling the tires in 2ncd and 3rd!

i was down fooling around at my dad's warehouse, just like a mile long open road cause of the tractor trailers and all, but i experienced the clutch to the floor being real slow coming back up.. scared me for a second, girlfriend was complaining about the smell... but all is well, and was well. just chilled out big time after it happend.
I will say this, my fiancee has the 2007 Z and the clutch is much hard than miine in the Nismo. I havent had any problems with mine and I have taken the car to the track (where I figured if I was going to have problems with it, it would be there) and I have over 3500K on it.
