Ouch! Clear Bra Cost for Nismo
One of the local tint/bra shops in Denver (IDS for you locals) just quoted me $800 for a clear bra install. 24" up the hood and fenders, including lights, mirrors and the front bumper/lip.
I hate to spend that much money, but I've already got two small chips on the front lip and a really small nick about 2/3 of the way up the hood with only 1600 miles on the car. FYI: the hood nick would be above the bra with a 24" installation. The shop said they couldn't do a full hood wrap with 3M material, as the widest product that they could get was 48", which is less than the length of the hood.
When I asked how much it would be to do just the bumper/lip, the guy said $375 -- which I can understand, given the custom work that the installation would entail.
Anybody else gotten a quote for clear bra installation for their Nismo??

Clear Bra
I just paid $900. for my Nismo #228. Rt 59 New York. A lot of money but worth it after my bad experience with my '03 Track ( bubbles, paint cut with blade etc.) This guy did a great job and threw in the gas cap, rear of wheels, door jams. Included hood, bumper and front spoiler plus mirrors. Make sure you check credentials!

Well I got mine for free. The dealer didn't go down on the MSRP which was not marked up but he wouldn't go down so he threw in the clear bra, first service and nismo mats for free. The bra would have cost me about $475.00 installed it covered the bumper, lip and about 8" up high in the hood also the back of the side mirrors.
I think the cost they are offering you is too steep, also be very careful of the tech that is installing it. I would go as far as cleaning the car before taking it to the shop (they deep clean it anyways) and taking a high def picture and comparing it with the completed work. Sometimes they will leave areas dirty and if it is noticable enough they will say its a rock chip when it is just dirt.
If they have sample of their work I would definitely take a look at it before trusting them. When I got mine done as me and my friend parked next to the car I couldn't see it I actually had to be standing beside it to even tell that it was there.

$535 from a guy in St Louis. Although I'd seen some of his work before bringing the Z over, I felt much better when I brought the car in to get it done - he was working on someone's Austin Martin Vantage.
Hood (up to the back of the headlights), bumper, front splitter (vertical supports included), sideview mirrors and door edges.

the bra is more expensive because there is no precut version for that bumper. i had to pay extra for my V1 nismo bumper to be covered. but 800 bucks? you could get ur bumper repainted twice for that amount....good luck though...

These are retail kit prices. That is the kits I had quoted for $795 installed. Obviously the installer gets the kits cheap or has them cut out on site and discounts them heavily.
