Sheesh. They rolled the car before they got an approval. Real smart. I'd NEVER be stupid enough to do that. If the customer wants to take it home right then and there then he or she can sign a backup and take a PO to their bank/CU. That way if he or she gets declined they're still backed up via our own financing. Their rate will be higher, but at least we as a dealership wont end up in a shitty position like the one the OP is describing.

To the OP, seriously, the dealership you're dealing with is f**king stupid.

Crooked crap like this happen way more than you think. Infact its one of the most common scams that ripoff dealers try to pull.

Never drive a car off the lot with out solid financing etc.. in place.

Update 2:

I just call Nissan Motor Corp asking the status of my contract/loan and the lady told me that there is no account under my name. I let her know that I my dealership told me that my loan was decline and I just want to verify it. She says that at this point there is no information and suggested that I need to contact my dealership for the status on whether approve or not. If no new information is available then most likely the loan will not be review again for approval if it was decline the first time. So that was a dead end.

What I want to know is that can they force me back on the original contract b/c they don't want to lose the customer? Like they offer my trade in back but when they can't -- they say that I am approve and to give them until today around noon to get this situation resolve. At first they kept trying to put in into another Z; therefore clearly show that I can walk away from the first deal. For all this trouble - I want out or make a whole new deal and not be force back into the original deal.

When I say that my paper plate has expired on 10/19 -- they just gave me another paper plate extended to 11/09. Like shouldn't I get my plate for registration already? How long does it take for plates to come in?

I'll let you guys know what is the outcome by noon.

How often does this kind of crap happen to a Z lover? Sigh...
Thanks for all your support

i cant believe they ripped you off like this. Isn't it illegal to sell the trade in until all the paperwork is completed? So even if you return the car, you still have no car. That's ridiculous.

Either they went through another bank other than Nissan or they didn't even do the paperwork and it slipped through the cracks.

Nissan approves pretty much anyone. I would call Nissan Consumer affairs and complain about the dealer. Tell them exactly what is going on and how they can not legally be doing this. Nissan needs to know one of their dealers is doing a shady operation. I would also contact the BBB.

Get your own financing. Do you have a relative who'll cosign? Check & see if you are eligible for a credit union membership. Just a few thoughts.

Update 3:

They call me back and say that they will honor it and the contract was confirm approved. So basically all this was for nothing but wasting my time.

Thanks everyone for your concern.

Kaspia - which stealership did you buy from?

Was it one in Houston, or are you elsewhere?

Same thing happened to me buddy, they told me to either turn it into a lease or give the car back, I already had 2k miles on it. I winded up turning it into a lease which lowered my payment, and was advised to just refinance it to a purchase in year since my credit would have gone up for paying 12 months at least of car payments.

I would get a lawyer involved. Because regards of the fact that the sales guy was new doesnt speak for the finance guy screwing up. It looks like there might be something else going on behind the scenes that your not seeing.

If anything **** the dealership and there finance team, try to get your own financing through a bank of something like that. We'll put it this way, I dont work and my credit isn't all that and I got financed for my car without a co-signer. I can give the information to the bank that approved me, maybe they can help. But would get a lawyer before you do anything as far as turning in the car. WHATEVER YOU DO DONT TAKE THE LEASE UNLESS THEY GIVE IT TO YOU FOR LIKE $200 A MONTH.. Now that would be sweet LOL
