I work for a big dealership, sells ford, lincoln, mercury, jeep, suzuki, honda, and of course Nissan!, I worked in the bodyshop for like 2 years, and was the parts guy solely for them, so I can just pick vins out from different cars through memory of what they're sposed to be. Something I needed when I had to order parts, vin's are like gold...they give all the info about a car, from date of birth to what plant manufactured it, towing capacity, everything. So I'll go with the "Super Vision" eyeballs...lol

Actually though it's a good idea to blur it, simply because if what I've heard is correct you need a vin to order parts from the nismo edition, and if someone used your vin they could, though vice versa it wouldn't have an adverse effect on you since they would have to buy the parts no matter what, but still.

Very true. Most importantly.... a thief can buy a replacement key off of your vin# so it's a good idea to tape over your exposed vin# to avoid theft.

Nissan's FAST has all the VINs for the NISMO models, so if I would be the person ordering I could just pick one from the list

Here ya go, everything is there:

You are right about VINs being gold, they give you every info about the car you could virtually want, like trim level

Partially true, a form of ID is required, being a license or registration, basically proof of ownership, or just go ***** to a general manager for a few hours and they'll make us cut a key...lol

I'll be putting mine up in the den, so if they do break in to steal my certificate - they'll have the keys anyway...

That's if I ever get it... although need to check mail for the last couple of days.
