that is super cheap for the miles . It's about 10 minutes from me. I might check it out. I went to go look at some of the 07/08 350z and was thinking of trading in but doesn't seem worth it to me.

that's actually the smartest way to buy a car. Only buy new if you make lots of money or very **** about the car because it's lightly used or had a previous owner.

i just talked to the seller. It seems it's on the Hendrick's Chevy dealership. This is one of out sister dealerships i work at. I made an appointment to come see it next week. Maybe we can crunch some numbers. Only thing is that the person who owned it before traded it in for a corvette. hope is not ragged out already.

**edit, for the people who are actually near, it's right near the Cary towne center mall by the freeway.

haha, yeah. I went to the dealership the other week to look at the 07/08 but it seems that i will be paying around 640-680 per month for a brand new enthusiast which i don't see it being a huge upgrade from mine besides year and mileage. Of course the new HR motor is great but with a few thousands, i'll be far past the performance of it with my car. It's hard because my car has no dents, dings, everything is in top notch shape right now. Even have stock navi and all. Not sure yet. I'm pretty sure something is wrong with it. I don't understand how a 2007 nismo alread dropping 7-8k already. Especially when it's a numbered collectible car.

That is cheap, and yeah, I agree with the 7-8k drop being pretty fishy.

Brand new 07 was dropped about 5000.00. I think dealers are having trouble selling these because the Nismo name is known by enthusiasts and not the main stream. When you at the car people don't view it as a "stock" vehicle. I am waiting for late winter to try to get the best deal--hopefully at 32000. One near me is at 33900.00!

Exclamation Check with your insurance carrier for damage

Car fax misses damage all the time. Check with your insurance carrier with the VIN number. If it has a pay out from an insurance company it will show up there when reported. It is still not 100% accurate. I am a car Rv dealer and have caught many trades this way but you still have to get it on a lift to look at it carefully. I bought my # 540 used with 285 miles at a steep discount, but no where near your price. I just check the black book and there is NO listing for the NISMO yet. The dealer may not know what they have as with the car I purchased. Limited production vehicles typically are not listed in Nada or Kelly within the first few years. Good luck if the car is what it appears.

A new car dealer cannot sell a car below invoice price ($36,025). Rather, I say they won't because they will be losing money. The only way they would do it is to dip into their dealer hold-back fee (maybe $750) but then they are losing money and dealerships are not in the business of losing money. If you know of one for $33,900, I would be willing to bet you it has been damaged on the lot (hail, keyed, etc) OR damaged during a test drive and then repaired in-house. Dealership gets a insurance settlement, fixes the car at virtually no overhead cost and then tries to pass some of the savings on to the customer. You better tread light and check it out thoroughly cuz I smell fish if what you claim is true . Just ask any reputable sales manager to enlighten you if you think I am off base.

You are correct on the cars that were repaired due to damage during a test drive or while on the lot, but I personally can tell you that I bought my car brand new below invoice. I negotiated back most of the hold-back because I ordered my car. Therefor the dealer wasn't loosing any money, he was basically making money for the paperwork.

Long story short, deals are out there to be made. I wish there were a Nismo convertible Z, then I'd be all over it. Then again, I'd probably be pissed because of all the money I've spent so far getting my drop top Z as "Nismo" as possible.

For most dealers, $1 or 200 is not worth the hassle unless they don't sell many cars and you walk in during the last 3 days of the month and they are desperate for a sale. Selling a new car at dealer invoice minus dealer hold-back is equivalent to a $10 purchase for a $10 (vendor cost) item. Somewhere, there has to be overhead profit to pay corporate electric/water bills, insurance, employee salaries, leases, etc.

NOT at $33,900 for a new NISMO....these cars come with $0 factory rebate and apart from that, there is absolutely no way a new NISMO will be that cheap unless the dealer is doing some flaky business!!! Once the deal is done and that car leaves the lot, it is the buyers problem. That's what I was trying to convey. I almost got duped once on a brand new hail damaged car that appeared to be listed at a blow-out price. When I negotiated with another semi-local GM dealer on a similar car, I used the previous buyers order as leverage and got a lesson in economics. When I questioned the original dealer general manager, the salesman said, "I apologize but you must not have heard me mention there was $75 worth of hail damage to the car". Be wary; that's all!
