Also, for the 335, there are piggyback chips like Procede that makes the car close to 400HP. That same chip will work with the 135 (since it has the same NS4 Direct Injection Engine w/ Twin Turbo setup).

One thing I love about the Z is the design and the power it delivers. The car came out in 2003, and was ahead of its time when it came to power and performance all in which can be had for under 30k MSRP. But nismo goes for over 30k+ and there are many cars to choose from 30-40k range. I remember going to the Chevy dealership and they were getting rid of the 07 Corvette C6 for 39k (to make room for the new LS3 engine on the 08 models).

I would pass, but thats just my intake. Nismo is a nice car, and if you want a factory performance car from NISSAN, then Nismo is definately worth looking at.

WOW~~~ RICH MAN~~~~

I believed you are missinformed...........first off to get a base model anywhere close to a Nismo it would cost you much more then the Nismo msrp, of which most of us have gotten the car far less then anyway. Suspension....body kit....wheels..... would get you close in price and btw the NIsmo gets a factory warranty on those items to boot. Then you need a aftermarket exhaust to make it sound as sweet as a Nismo and theres the extra bracing and frame welding. You may say wtf who needs that for the street. BUT you did say same.....and as the normal driver probably wouldn't notice the benefits of such on the street. Anyone at a track could easily distinguish the deferents. Love it or hate it a valued beauty or fugly pig. The Nismo IS a unique car, and expensive to replicate....

What the...? A 135I over a Nismo Z or any Z for that matter. Have you had any recent head trauma?

Default Nismo Rocks

I got the Nismo and it may be ugly to some, but no matter where I drive this car it gets the L00ks. At the store today I was going to pay for my things and the cashier looked out the window and said Wow! look at that car out there! I replied with , Thats my nismo 350z with 240 miles on it. It is brand new.. He came to see and desire. It was funny to see how people get. Especially when it looks down right like a Badass exotic car just sitting out in the parking lot.

The Tii is hot, but it's 4-cylinder engine. A high revving 4 banger should be fun, but the easy to mod turbo engine in the 135i is one of it's biggest pluses.

And if the Tii approaches 50K, then I'd look consider a M coupe or perhaps a Cayman S, either used or a new one which can be had with significant discounts.

Here are a few threads about the 350Z/nismo vs the 1er on the 1-series forum.

nismo z is an overweight pig.
The 135i weighs a little over 100lbs less than a 335i. Makes the 135i about 150-200lbs more than a Z.

They weigh about the same. The 135i has almost 30 more pound-feet of torque. With a tweaked, track-ready suspension, the Nismo will handle better.

Assuming that the performance is going to be similar, I think the question comes down to styling. Personally, I love the way the Nismo looks. Gauging by the number of people who honk, wave and/or stare while I am driving down the street -- and the people who I still find milling about my car very regularly when I am coming out of the grocery store, I'd say that most people are going to agree that the Nismo is more stylish than the rather bleh looking 135i.

Maybe you should look at getting one of the 135i hatchbacks: the Civic drivers would certainly be jealous.
