The Tires or just RWD
About 30 min ago i was trying to leave my house in my car as soon as i pulled out in the snow in reverse and tried going forward... i was stuck. there is about 2" on snow and some ice underneath... Since this is the first RWD car i have owned my question is this... Was i stuck because of the tires that come on the nismo or was i stuck because its a RWD car and there is no hope for it to go forward in the snow? Had to have 3 people including myself trying to push the car back into the carport and sadly i had to red line her and she isn't even 12000 miles in

Tires. I've been driving a RWD car in western PA for the past 8 years and rarely encounter a problem due to RWD. The stock tires (or any summer tire for that matter) simply do not go well in snow. Period.
high performance summer tires. No snow. If the Z is going to be your only car, you're going to need to buy a set of winter tires (I recommend Bridgestone Blizzaks) for next year. Hopefully we're done w/ big snow falls this year, but with as much snow as we've gotten in Indiana this year, who knows?
My car can sit out snowfalls just because i live where i work at. and if i need to go anywhere i can always borrow my moms 4x4 Honda Pilot. Thanks for the heads up on the tires.. the dealership lied to me they told me it was all season tires, Was looking online couldn't find any general tires.. used to be my fav company on my last car lasted me 3 seasons of abuse.

.and try not to drive your nismo with stock tires anywhere when theres snow covering the ground - you won't get too far.

What do mean you had to redline her?
Also I don't know what model you have but if you have a base that is probably the worst model for snow driving because the lack of an LSD.

Tires.. Haha i was with a bunch of WRX people the other day and the 07s come with potenzas as well. And they were talking about how it makes their AWD worthless. and some guy comes out and yells "they are SHI*ENZAS!" haha.
that wasnt very relevant but the tires are def. summer tires. wont get far in snow. I get stuck at the bottom of my driveway in slush

If you have no traction the last thing you want to do is redline it, the lower the RPMs the better in that situation.

my last car you had to floor it to get anything out of it.
Don't gun the engine. Go slow and don't hit the gas -- idle speed in first or second will get you moving and keep you moving -- but you're gonna be seriously screwed if you hit any kind of hill that is covered in show or ice -- or if you need to stop quickly.
