Default Nismo Check-up?

My car is going to be taken into the shop for its approx. 10,000 mile check up soon. So far the only thing I have done to it is have the oil changed twice.

My question is: Is there anything specific that should be done around this time period, i.e alignment, any fluids that need to be changed, etc... I checked the service manual, and it basically says major things are just the oil and filter. (I think)

Right now my car is running fine and drives straight. My thinking is if it ain't broken.... Don't let Nissan break it. My car is a daily driver and I drive it relatively hard, but no auto X's or anything like that yet.

I am also thinking of getting my oil changed in the future every 5000 miles instead of 3000 since I am using synthetic oil. I was up in the air about this until I found out that new Porsches, BMWs, and Mercedes that use synthetic get about 10 -15K miles before oil change, with a similar amount of oil as the Z.

Summary : 1) What needs to be looked at during 10,000 mile checkup?
2) 5000 mile oil changes instead of 3000?

Thanks

I would not go over 5K miles. I run M1 0w-40 and I'm going 5K miles on that Oil and that oil runs very good in VQ Eng.

I'm thinking the owner's manual says to change the oil at 3750 for severe service or at 7500 miles for normal service. I just split the difference and change mine every 5000 miles. I use Valvoline synthetic.

^ Yea but I think they put conventional oil in the Z's initially thats the reason for the 3750.

Save yourself some money, and just do the check up yourself.
All they do is check fluid levels, air pressure in your tires, belts, hoses,
all visual stuff really. Your car is so new, there's really no reason to pay
them to tell you what you already know...your car is fine.

Use Amsoil 0-30 100% synthetic.

I agree, but those cool little stamps in your service book will help when it's time to sell it!

Urban legend...myth.
If someone wants to buy your car, those stamps
will make no difference, or add any value.
If it is not in the KBB, you won't see it.

Let me rephrase it then, IMO, I wouldn't buy another used car with out documented service records. Buy a car with 60,000 plus miles and have the timing belt break on you. Then ask yourself if you should have seen all the service records.
