I enjoy my Nismo, but since you asked....the 135i. It has produced 72.4mph slalom runs and is under 40K when I option it out.

Ya know, I concidered that car but never went to drive it. I finalized my decision between the NISMO and the Lotus Elise. I like the NISMO better although 0-60 the lotus dominates. The Lotus Elise was $46k but because this car was going to be a company car (body wrapped, etc) I would have looked like a ******* wrapping a lotus. Plus I would have put a lot of miles on it.

I have seen those numbers of the 135i but have you seen this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-F87MrlEVg

The NISMO absolutely dominates the track with the M3 trailing 2nd, and the 135i's in the dust.

I agree, I also think purchasing a 1 series BMW instead of the 3 series is like purchasing the V6 mustang instead of the V8.

It is a perfect track car. While it may not runs 9's in the quarter, and can hand with the best around the track. It's engine can take the beating, the car has no body roll, and the 350z itself is a performance bargain.

I dare for you to challenge that aspect of the NISMO.

No I said it bad

I was trying to say that they make it seem like it is some car with 300hp more than the rest of the cars and is godly to the rest

I know the Nismo is a very good track car

All the cars in that vid were stock, including the NISMO 350z. Those guys that do those run tell you if there is any modifications.

Well I chose the Nismo over the 135i too, but with some wheels and a drop along with a simple Mtech (factory) body kit, I think it would look pretty good. I'd love to have a lotus, but definitely not for a daily-driven vehicle.

There are a few threads on that video if you're interested.

I really wish there were more upgrades available for the VQ35HR. My only options are headers, and high flow cats (I have the Stillen intake already). I don't really trust Greddy's TT kit for the HR, and the HKS one requires a lot of modificaiton (so I hear) which can't be good.

If anyone else knows some good options for the HR motor, please let me know.

I understand both sides, but I personally wouldn't use a Nismo for a project car. Especially since you can do the same mods on a non-nismo and get the same results.

At the same time, to each his own. I guess one of the benefits of modding a Nismo is you'll get more money back for your OEM parts.

I'm happy w/my non-nismo

Are you familiar with the tuning options, primarily from Technosquare and Cobb. There's also a dedicated HR forum.
