Default nimso Z vs 07+ nismo parts

hey guys, I've been looking for nismos around my area for the past few weeks and reading other peoples opinions about the nismo and I have a question for the nismo owners.

Say I get a nismo for 32k OTD... I can get an 07 or 08 Z for... 25k OTD... (these are just estimates to what I've been seeing).. now.. thats a difference of 7k.. with that 7k.. i can pretty much build my own nismo and still probably have some left over and get better suspension/exhaust/rims other the nismo

so.. the question is... why would you guys choose the nismo over just getting a enthu/touring model and build from there? Since the engine is the same... I know theres also the limited edition status but put that aside for now... thanks

and... for nismo color... white or black?

Welded and stiffer chassis. Factory tuned suspension. Taking parts out of a box and installing them does not usually result in well tuned and balanced car. Just my opinion but I would get the Nismo because it just works and works well.

for the cost difference you can sure give your Z some nice improvements, but you can't fully replicate a nismo, it's just not possible.

that being said I would still go the Z + mods route. I didn't see much of a difference when I drove a nismo

If you're talking about the factory NISMO (like this forum is for) then 7k won't come close to making a normal Z a NISMO, and that's not including the welded chasis. If you're thinking that the add-on parts you can get from the dealer are the s-tune parts, it's not the same. Yes, you can take a normal Z, use the extra money to buy s-tune parts and have a better Z than stock. But the s-tune components aren't the same as what's on the NISMO.

Besides, even if you did add stuff to a normal Z and at least make it look like a NISMO, you wouldn't have the numbered plate. And that's really where it's at.

I would say it depends what you are looking for. If you like the customize your car to your personal like than the "selfmade" nismo might be great. If you are looking for a finished solution that is awesome, get the real Nismo.

If your that indecisive, then just buy a Z, and mod it with the extra $$$.
Buy whatever parts/brands you see fit, and be happy.
If you truly want a Nismo, then buy it, not replicate it.

I completely agree. Take this guys word! Don't replicate a fake NISMO, get the real one or don't at all.

well... im not considering building a nismo... im just saying.. cause your basically paying that extra 5k-10k (depending on how much you paid for it)... for the kit, suspension, brakes, extra welding, exhaust and the limited edition plate... honesty... wouldn't you guys agree?

One item that I did take into consideration was warranty. I want my 3/36 and my 5 year power train. Once you start mods you loose that in many cases..

ah if you was one of the first to buy it...yea it wasn't the smartest thing to do in my case when I could of waited, and paid about 10k less...so if you can find one right now for 29-33k why not????

Don't forget those RAYS wheels so many people want to buy from us.
You can't justify it, and you should not have to. It's one of those either you do, or you don't type of things. You either want it, or you don't. You either like it, or you don't. If you are going to let the $$$ dictate, or justify it, then it's not for you. I had an 06 base, and traded it in for the Nismo, no hesitation. I wanted to put a Vertex full kit, Volks, StopTechs, Injen intake and exhaust, Tein coilovers, etc. I would have paid alot more in parts, and labor...plus moving from a base I added LSD, and cruise control, oh and an HR engine too. It was more than worth it for me.

Do you understand that $7,000K will just get your Body Kit on NISMO 350z.

The body is not just for looks, Then your looking at $5,500 for Rays Wheels and Tires, $2K for suspension, $ 3,800 for 4_pot Brakes.

Then you have NISMO dampers $1,000K, Catback $1,400.

Then you have to have all that installed and painted. $2000 for that.

Your looking at $22K

you may be "saving" $7-$10K, but theres atleast $15K+ in extra mods on the nismo, like how StoneZtech pointed out.

Well, the NISMO 350z Mulffer sales for $800 from NISMO. They are Built my HKS. That Price $1400 was with OEM 07-08 Mid-P and Y-P.

But any good Catback would run you $1,100 to $2,000. Just in all what you want.
