Default debating on buying 08 nismo

Ok guys, had an 03 performance for about 3.5 years up until a few months ago. I went down to the local dealer and they had a red 08 nismo that I've had my eye on for awhile now. Ive been doing some homework and I've been reading of cases of some new 08 nismos going for around 30k. Right now Nissan still has the 1.9% financing on the 08 350z's including the nismo.

Long story short I went down there today and offered them 30k out the door, I told them I'd put 7 down and finance the rest with their 1.9% deal going on. To my surprise they took the offer pretty serious, but the lowest I could get them down to today was 32k +ttl, which is still prety good i guess since the sticker was just over 40k.

I posted this thread to get some input from you guys and see what you think. I really dont want to finance mch more than than 23k, but that car is bad @ss. Thanks for reading.

$32k OTD would be a decent deal since its a brand new '08.

I got my '07 Enthusiast model for $31K..

$32k is pretty good for a new '08 Nismo..I'd be all over it..

I picked my red 08 up for 31 and change plus tax in Denver. However someone on the board picked one up in Denver for 29+. Over on Edmunds you could easily figure out the mfg rebates on the car a month ago (they were $5k) but it looks like they've stopped carrying it as a new vehicle (http://www.edmunds.com/used/2008/nis...29/prices.html) so it's hard to say exactly what the dealership actually owns the car for. BTW Nissan also has a 2% dealer holdback based on invoice. In my case I think the dealership owned it for just shy of 31 once you factor in the floor mats, trunk mat and al kick plates, window tint and clear bra.

Long story short 32 seems like a reasonable price for a new one. Good luck.

Rebates are still $5k. Rebates + invoice is already 8k off MSRP. Accept no less that $10k off MSRP. They were advertising $10k off MSRP on ALL 350Zs in socal during December. It is now March. If you can't get the same amount off, just leave.

you may not want to put so much down on the car IMO. for ever $1000 down that only drops your payments in the range of 20 dollars. You could use some of that 7k for mod's should you decide too or a safety net if you need money. but ya man I would go pick that car up for sure. Good deal.

the thing is too is that this car is pretty much going to be my daily driver. i also have an 83 280zxt that im going to try and use to keep the miles off whatever i get, but i have also been looking into an 06-07 g35 6mt coupe w/ sport and premium package. I can get the G for 22k +ttl but id have to go out of town to get one.

Ive ran the numbers: if i put 5 down (saving back for ttl) and borrow 17k at my preapproved rate of 6.2% from my local bank at 60 months, the payment will around 330/mo for the g35 and i got quoted 280/mo for insurance (07 g35 coupe). 610 tot

For the the 08 nismo: assuming 32.5k out the door, if i put 7k down and borrow 25.5k at 1.9% for 60 months, the payments will be about 450/mo. Insurance to my surprise was less at only 215/mo. 665 tot

Where i live there are so many 350's around. After having one for 3.5 yrs i kinda want something different, thats where the g35 comes into play. If i got the g35 i still have my Z cure (280zxt), which i just got out of the paint shop by the way. The 08 nismo allows me to get another Z and set myself apart from all the local 350's. Ive only ever seen one other nismo in el paso, but i know there are a couple more.

I'm having a hard time making up my mind ....

i dont want a 370 just yet. for me, the 08 nismo is the best of the best of the 350's. if i got a 370, i would want sport and touring package which is just out of my price range. also, they'll probably release a reamped one every two yrs like they did with the 350. then ill be like damn it i should have waited. lol

I say 09 370Z with Sport Pack and then quit being so difficult. You could probably get one of those for around the same as the 08 Nismo. Forget the G35C with the old school DE engine that burns oil.

Don't buy a red one those are the one's that are being totaled! Just kidding,
just do it and every time you walk away from it you look back at it and smile. It's worth every pennie and then some.

I just drove by a local dealership in Streetsboro, Ohio and they had an 08 Nismo with 29,500 on the window. They got the 370 in and they're really trying to get rid of it.
