Default Front Plate tickets starting to become a problem!

Well, the story goes.. was pulled over once again for not having my front plate (this time the $60 was given instead of the usual warning) attatched on the front of my car. Thought, I would make a thread for "Us Nismo Owners" regarding this so called problem of connecting the front plate (for state residents where it's the law).

The Options:
1. Drill in the bumper (ohh hellzz no)
2. Create some sort of contraption that has a soft piece around the plate and attatch it to the pieces with some zipties (chance of charring the paint)
3. Stillen bracket or Zee Bracket (do these even fit, because of our extended nose)
4. Add a 2" extension (weld) to the tow hook and attach the plate with a zip tie
5. Screw it and just live on the edge and if you get a ticket you get the ticket!

BTW, I want to also, add that in no way do I think I am above the law nor am I saying that the Nismo Z is anymore special than a normal Z, I literally just would to find others Nismo owners and see if they have had the same problem. Thanks!

Pictures would really help too. I'm going to work on it a little bit this weekend and will make sure to post if I'm any bit successful.

Dealer drilled the holes in my bumper. I removed the bracket and used very small push plugs to fill the holes. I've been without a front plate since. I might try to make my own bracket that uses the tow hook mount. Don't want a front plate but don't want a ticket either.

I already had the Stillen bracket for my M35; it won't fit on my Nismo unless I find a way to add an extension to it.

Option #6 - Have a dealer's license and use a dealer plate

Sure, I get pulled over every now and again. But they can't do anything about it.

I once got a tint ticket but other then that the Popo hasn't said anything about the front plate. Knock on wood! I can't see my redline sporting a front plate. I rather keep the lines smooth.

Good luck. Seems as tho they have their eyes on you.

How do you guys who dont have front plates or extreamly dark tinted windows get inspection stickers?

I ended up just putting the front plate on mine. Someone was saying that God forbid you had a few drinks and you were over the .08 limit and got pulled over for something stupid like a front plate missing. Its not worth it.

i just got a ticket last week for this... first time i was pulled over since buying the car in july 2008... its a $54 ticket, and he really had nothing better to do...

now as to options, for now im still just saying screw it, but i am really looking at making a bracket for the tow hook... i think it would look good and can be removed with no damage...

ohhh, when i bought the car i had bought the flip hide away bracket, which could fit under the lip... just couldnt take it to drill... so i sold... that might be an option for someone else... good luck and keep me posted... especially if you get the tow hook to work...

Then leave the plate off and stop drinking and driving.

I would scrape off the pop up license plate, good idea not for the slammed cars though

Front plate FTL. Just pay your 60 bucks dude. I've gotten two already, but feel it would be an injustice to the whip to have a plate on it.

Man I'm glad I live in Florida. This whole front plate thing is BS. I can't believe that these northern states require this. What the hell is the point on having one in the front? In Florida when cops pull you over they are behind you.

Suck it up.
I drive without a license plate and got pulled over once.
Gave me a warning and I paid it off. Never went back to that city in general for a couple of months...

I got pulled over for this once because the cop noticed I used zip ties. Gave me a warning. He said "It needs to be permanently attached...". Such BS!

im glad i live in florida too, thats some bs. We dont have to have a helmet either to ride the bike, but you re at least suppose to have insurance, which isnt required either(unless without helmet).
