Is anyone else getting awful mpg out of their Nismo?
you are suppose to divide by the amount of gallons you put in, not the 20 gallon total. So lets say your light comes on, you driven 300 miles, you PAY for 15 gallons, then you have 20mpg..
I'm getting 18-22 Average mpg. My NISMO is still new; haven't done the first oil change yet. So, I'm thinking that after the first oil change and after being broken in, my mpg should improve. On my first oil change, I'm giving it a "Royal Purple" treatment and from then on as well.
My little gauge reads 20.2mpg and I haven't reset it yet. I drive below 4k and usually shift at 3k. I drive on the freeway back and forth in the mornings and then a little in-town stuff but I leave that for the motorcycle.
I've been averaging between 12.5 and 14.5 mpg. All my driving is in the city and on a moderately hilly route (Seattle). I avoid rabbit starts and am pretty conservative pedal-wise. My wife's Rogue is getting 19.5 to 22.5 under the same driving conditions. I'm feeling a bit scammed by Nissan's claim of 18 in the city.
I think that not filling up creates more vapor inside the tank and im sure thats not good..always heard it best to keep them full... and ive noticed that although it may be a tiny bit quicker, the suspension seems to work MUUUCH better and feels more solid when totally full.
I'm curious as to what you guys do for driving. Driving to an auto-x, racing, and driving home I'm just under 20mpg, depending on course and number of runs. I'm routinely 25mpg+ with mine
I'm getting about 400 miles on a trip. thats 16 gallons. the low fuel light comes on early because the fuel pump is in the tank and requires the fuel to cool it. for the nismo, you get better mpg at 80 than at 70. the aerodynamics do work on this car. my last track day, I got about 350 miles out of 15 gallons. no idea wht some of you get way less though. short shifting doesn't help mileage either.
How many gallons do you put in when you fill up?
I get ~18-19mpg for combined city/highway. I usually get about 340-350 miles per tank before filling up, but that's with running with the gas light on for awhile. As you know, the gas light is quite conservative as it comes on even with 4-5 gallons of gas left.
