I'm loving the Nismo 370Z, but not so sure I'd trade in for one, at least not right now.
I'm a bit surprised that a Nismo edition was released so soon, but all in all, it's an excellent package.

If they really want to make it an "enthusiasts" car only, they should keep a rock hard suspension and not soften it up like they were hoping for in that edmunds article.
Put a roll cage in it, fire extinguister, some real thin racing seats. This will knock out about 90% of people who are just looking for something to cruise around in that looks cool, because those kinds of people are the ones that are going to end up putting heavy subs in and leather seats and the lot. It defeats the purpose.
If Nissan just wants to make money they will let people option it any way they want as long as their willing to pay. If they care about their Nismo brand name they will leave it relativly stripped with no luxury options... Other than the Nismo floor mats! WOOO
I personally love the gunmetal wheels on our cars. I don't the 370Z has the same look that jumps out at you. It kind of reminds me of the S Tune 350Z. I agree with who ever said they wern't diggin the wing or wheels. I'm definitly not moving away from my car soon.
Hell the other thing about our cars is that I very rarely saw one in a Nissan dealership. When I bought mine I had to tell the dealer I wanted one, and they responded "What is a Nismo"
Then they had to ship it in from CT. Thats they way it should be, not just some yuppy that walks into the showroom and thinks "cool", but instead someone who given all their other choices has carefully decided this is the best bang for the buck performance wise as a stock car.

I'm shocked that 9 of you will be trading in your 07/08 Nismo for the 09 one, because it is going to be such a hit financially.
I'm thinking about $15-20K difference between the trade in and new one
Or its just retarded people who have regular Z's who didn't bother to read the question.

What it does look like v.s. what it should look like (2nd photo is photoshoped courtesy of Solo) The one tone doesn't look agressive enough. Anyone find any pictures of it in black or red yet. maybe that will change my mind

Im very impressed with 350hp especially for a n/a car. I personally wouldn't trade my nismo in for this. I feel attached to the car. I probably help my girlfriend buy it so I can drive 2 nismo. lol

my .02 - i really like the power... and i love the interior alot more than ours, looks alot better put together... but as for styling, alot is lost on the exterior... im going to stick with mine, cause that was my idea in the first place... and next car i get is the GT-R not a slight upgrade to the NISMO 370z... If your going to upgrade, really UPGRADE, if not, just be happy with what you have... An amazing car...

ahhh thanks for the pics... personally i think the 350 nismo exterior looks better but as far as the interior and engine of course the 370... it sucks that our nismos didnt come with the japanese 3.8L engine... wack

I like the 370Z Nismo, but I think I'll stick with my newly acquired 350Z Nismo at $10k off sticker . getting the 2010 Nismo at sticker price (or possibly more with dealer mark-up) kinda defeats my purpose of getting a new Nismo on the cheap. I do wish we have that 350 horses .

I think the only way I would ever consider to trade my Nismo would be if Nissan ever made a really hardcore Nismo. One with race seats, real sequential gear box, adjustable suspension, super light weight, Turbo etc. Otherwise I love my Nismo so much I can't see one good reason to trade for a car that looks great but not enough of change.
I rather get nice sparco seats and wheel for my Nismo.

The damn things orange for god's sake and has a roll cage! (In Europe at least)
Thats what they need to do to the Nismo. If you look at all the other threads about the Nismo, it seems everyone who has an older 350 who wants to upgrade is "going to buy" the new Nismo.
However, we all know about 95% of these people are full of chit, but still if the Nismo became mainstream I would be pissed.
I remember when the first Nismo came out and people were saying the ride was to hard and it didn't have NAV and blah blah blah. I thought it was great because
1) I didn't have to worry about getting a pre order (in fact I didn't buy my 07 untill the end of the year for invoice)
2) Got rid of the wanna be's who would have never tracked the car or possibly even pushed it. (And taken away the limited amount of cars that people who wanted it to be a track car wouldn't have gotten the oppurtunity to have)
I feel if all of a sudden the Nismo is mainstream, it would defeat the purpose of the "Nismo" brand entirely. I completely agree with Wolfi that it should be completly purpose built. For those who want all the optional extras and just the exterior look of the Nismo I have no problem with that, but let them buy a base and upgrade it with Nismo body kits.
That is one thing I loved about the 350Z Nismo is that it was seam welded. You really can't just do that to any car, and the fact that the Tech's at Autech tuned everything to flow together.
Plus everything on a Nismo 350Z is under warrenty as compared to people who buy a car and modify it.

I like it but I don't. I like the power, the slightly better interior and the body that similiar to the 350's. But I don't at the same time. The power is always welcome, but the rest of the package, meh. The interior quality looks the same it's just been transformed to the modern nissan motif. The body is almost a copy of the 350, but it lacks ......something.
What I don't like about it is it's "mainstream-ness" like Lento just brought up. I think when we all bought our Nismo's we felt like the is the first time Nissan has out out a ,one off, hardcore, track ready Z. Limited in numbers, someday becoming a collectors item even. We felt like we were the member of an elite club. I know i felt something knowing that I was driving one of only 1500 (or so :P ) cars like this in the world. However Nissan saw dollars in the nismo line, not exclusivity of it. Maybe Nissan has their sights on the GT-R being the exclusive car and is looking at the Z as the mass produced chump car nowadays. I dunno.
So now are they gonna churn out Nismo's every year from now on? Probably. Then the Nismo name will be worthless. Might as well make it a regular trim line. Make it available all the time and by order only. I agree with Lento in keeping the Nismo something out of the ordinary. Make it VERY hardcore. No radio. No A/C. Hard bucket seats. 5 point harnesses.....etc. Keep it worthy of the limited edition, handmade Nismo name. But if this is was it is.....i give up.
I'll deifintly be keeping my 08 Nismo and when the time comes. Upgrade to GT-R........or a Porsche. That way I wont have to correct anyone anymore.
