Clutch problem!!!!!help
I was driving back from my cousins house and i tried to launch it from a dead stop and when i did the clutch was all the way in and it wouldnt come out till couple of seconds later and it smell really bad. I thought it was normal since it was on first gear but then i changed to second redline when all da way up I thought i missed second gear but i didnt and the clutch was all the way in am like WTF. I know they had recalls on the 07s on slave cylinder but mine its an 08 nismo and it smelled like i killed the clutch . It was way too smelly i knew something was wrong. Anyone know about this issue. Can the dealership do something about it? THANKS
car has 1500 miles and you didnt break in the clutch properly........you burned it up......
I highly doubt any dealership is gonna warranty anything, so your best bet is to buy an aftermarket clutch to replace your burnt up oem clutch and learn how to drive.....

you think so because I used to owned a 07 si and i had no problems with it. The clutch was fine and is still is I gave the car to my younger brother. There is no way i burned the clutch by just launching the car only once. Theres no way that could happen IMOP
just what i thought....a previous civic owner..
....ya never had any problems with your previous SI, cause it had no power......
yes, if you only have 1500 miles on a Nismo and you dont break in the clutch properly............and your out doing burn outs and launches, then your pretty much just tearing up your car.......
that smell is typical clutch burn smell.....and if it smelled bad for a long time, like it seems you mention, then its a gonner........i know the smell of a burnt up Z clutch as i enter many drift events and it took a ton of abuse before burning up an oem clutch......yet mine was broken in properly......
let it cool and then try it again in the morning..........if its still high reving and not catching and only slipping, then your clutch is GONE........burn't up from your LACK of proper break in........
buy another clutch and learn how to take care of your car.......
reading the owners manual will help....
and be ready to be flamed, cause thats whats about to happen.

can you give me a few pointers on "proper clutch break in"? Like things i should be doing/things i should not? thanks
THANKS for making me feel bad....lol....BUT like i said before its weird because i know it only has 1500 miles on it, i never made any burn outs or launches. That launch that i mentioned was the only one i made since i bought the car and not dumb enough to be messing with an unbroken car. and forgot to tell an old guy was the previous owner and he returned the car because he didnt like the car...TOO strange huh? i wonder why...maybe he was the one that messed up the clutch because when i drove the car for the first time i thought the clutch was too soft for the car....but that's just me

Nope, that's how it feels...
and for the launching/burnouts that was the only time...
C'mon I/we wasn't born yesterday...being this your first rear-wheel...seriously the breakin process is a setup period to be taken seriously. Smooth acceleration, smooth decelaration for about 750 to 850....I know I have tooken my baby over the recommend mph but I was in six gear doing 95 mph, how bad can that be?
. Doing burnouts/launching your car before/around 1500 miles? You better go to shop who knows Z/Gs or a good stealership. If you go to a stealership I wouldn't tell them you where launching your car, yet braking and the clutch went limp...

isn't a matter of mileage (well it is but isn't so important)...
is a matter of using the clutch in the proper way. this one isn't designed to do burnout or start at the rev limiter. period.
start from the stops like a normal person, just change gear and avoid power shifting (shifting without releasing the throttle), shift clean and your clutch will last.
mine has 35.000 miles and starts giving up, but I have at least 18 days on a road course where I beat the $hit out of the car...
learn to drive the car for what she can do, not for what you'd like to do. the second way is the right way to have expensive mechanical bills.

“Smell” is indicative of a burned pressure plate. You can diagnose this problem with a simple "slipping test". If the pressure plate holds the flywheel without slipping, you are good to go.

I thought I was rough on my clutch, and its barely starting to slip now (at 60K) and you have a NISMO..
Wheres a gigantic icon22 when you need one..
