Exclamation Nismo LONG THROW SHIFTER!

Hi everyone,

I finally got my NISMO short throw shifter, Nissan part# 34101-Z3303. I loved the way my Nismos shifter felt from the factory it was such a short notchy shifter, that I could not pass up the 4 way adjustable shifter offered by Nissan's Nismo parts division.

I went through the exersize of removing my original shift lever and was so excited to put in the new part. After all it has 4 positions that can be selected by the driver at a stop light. 20% longer than stock, 0% stock throw, 20% shorter than stock and the holy grail setting 40% shorter than stock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately here is where the bad news comes in. Please take this as a financial warning and you will save yourself a lot of money. While this shifter may be much better than the STOCK 350Z's factory shifter, our friends at AUTECH already put a short throw shifter in the NISMO Z. The throw of the NISMO's shifter is already 40% shorter than the factory stock Z's shifter is.

So in the shortest setting at 40% shorter it feels just like the factory stock shifter that was originally in the NISMO.

I now have a NISMO LONG THROW shifter in my car since the only way I can adjust it is to go longer than the factory throw. While it adds another NISMO item to the car, it was a total waste of money. Thank AUTECH for doing things right the first time and you will be thankful that I saved you a lot of money by learning from my mistake.

Sorry,

I wont sell any of the original parts from the car. I have them all boxed and cataloged. If I ever put it back to 100% stock, I want to have all of the original parts. And I really dont feel like taking the shifter back off and replacing it with the stock part as it is a real pain it the rear to do.

This would be news to me, though I think the throw in any regular old Z is fine.

I've owned a stock 2003 350Z track edition (drove it daily), and traded it in for a 2008 350Z Nismo (And drive this daily now). There is no difference the throw from 2003-2008 what so ever. Feels excatly the same.

Maybe where ever you bought your Nismo shifter they slipped a stock shifter in the box and sold it to you.
