Do you have a parking structure on campus? If so, park at the very, very top. That's one place with the least flow of cars and people, so nobody is likely to do stuff like that to you.

you are too nice, i would have waited for the explorer owner to return to their vehicle...

i take extremes to go out of my way to prevent my car from taking damage in parking lots. people have absolutely no respect for others' property where i live. so i feel your pain.

with that being said, if you drive your car daily, it is only a matter of time before you get a door ding. it is almost to be expected. sounds to me like you need to get a beater for DD.

Meh, I never really understood the whole "get a different daily driver" thing. The Nismo is my daily driver. I would never buy a car just to drive it on the weekends when I could drive it all the time. I actually look forward to comming to and going from class just because I know I am going to have fun.

Hell even if I had a Lambo or some kind of exotic car I would drive it everywhere. I have the same chances of a jerk dinging my car on a Saturday as much as a Tuesday considering I park out of the way all the time. You could even say the weekends are more dangerous because there are drunk kids around on the weekends compared to the weekdays.

Plus by the time you factor in the car, the taxes, insurance, and everything else. A beater actually costs a decient amount of money. And I would never want to drive it when I have my Z sitting right there.

Obviously if there were a billzard and or I knew I was going to be parked overnight in a very shady section of town with no garage parking... thats a different story. But on a sunny Wednesday I'd rather be driving the Z than a 1990 Honda.

i see your point. each person has their own definition of a beater. to me, a beater is a car that i don't care if something happens to it, yet nice and still fun to drive. i must admit though, I'm constantly wanting to drive my nismo out to the movies or a club or something, but then the thought of leaving it unattended in a packed parking lot for a couple of hours deters me. i pretty much only drive mine to Z-meets, cruises, auto-x and occasionally picking up the gf when i know i don't have to leave it unattended. i drive 120 miles round trip to work every day and frequently hit rabbits and the occasional coyote and random birds trying to eat the roadkill. plus there are always oryx running out across the road. i have yet to hit an oryx thank goodness but i know several people who have totaled vehicles as a result of it. if i hit any of those going down the highway in my Z, it would cause some serious damage i'm sure lol. anywho, thats why i have a "beater".

The awesomeness of my drawing supersedes pics. Plus I never park in those spots anymore. Now I park in the middle of the garage in a spot between a massive pylon and the cut through where you can go up or down between floors. There is only one spot and no "no parking zone" striped lines.

Zstreet I feel your pain. My front bumper is being held together by tape in some places. I hit a cone in an auto x, a skunk, a metal bar that shot off a police car going 65 mph, and the occasional scrape comming out of a steep garage.

I had OCD when it came to my car, but after seeing so many totaled Z's I now just consider myself lucky to still have it in one piece, especially since I have had some scary moments myself.

I know it has the defects when I wash it and mull over it, but to other people the only reaction I get is "Nice car" (or they are just giving me the smug, you son of a ***** smile from south park

I often go out of my way to avoid parking my car next to anyone. The back or corner of the parking lot...the top of the parking garage...whatever it takes. There's usually always a quiet part of the lot where you can park normally and nobody will bother it. (Most people are so lazy they wouldnt even bother walking out to the remote park of the lot even if they had an inclination to vandalize someone's car)

Yeah people who do silly **** like cause damage to someones else's car and then leave notes about how they enjoyed it or how they're telling you what's up...cmon cmon cmon...could you possibly be any more of a needle dicked loser to do that? I mean you're as bad as the rude parker guy, seriously. Now if you want to be man and voice your opinion to someones face, thats a differnt story
