Default 2nd and 3rd Getting Choppy

Anyone else notice when you take your foot off the gas in 2nd or 3rd gear, and the RPMs start to fall below 3,000 the stick starts shaking like crazy and the car sounds like its sputtering.

I know theres always some noise and stick shaking when you do this but it has been getting more and more noticable and pronounced. I have to drive in traffic almost every day and I was wondering if anyone else is noticing this becoming an issue, especially those of you who do a lot of city/traffic driving?

Mine is also doing it with 8K.. It also vibrates quite a bit on acceleration in second and third. Cannot get it into second gear when cold.. I have been waiting till it was broken in.. I think it is just broken..

I know there's a point when I'm coasting where the shifter shakes more than usual, then it goes away. It's always done that and believe it's normal. However, if you feel that the vibration is getting more pronounced, I would take it in to the dealer.

engine and transmission support are getting old... it's normal on a quite stiff car.

Could be, but i don't think that's necessarly it.

Mine does this too. I've have 4 transmissions, and they all have done it. It's not really highly audible, but you can definatly feel it (and see it) through the stick. To me it feels like driving over rumble strips, but you can only feel it through the shifter. If you hand wasn't on it you wouldn't even notice it unless you were listening and feeling for it.

For me it rarely does this. Maybe a few times a year. And it always happens when i'm playing around at interstate speeds (I.E. jumping on someone who wants to play around on teh highway). I've notice if i downshift to third and run it up to pretty high RPMs (6,000ish), and then let off the gas and "engine brake", as it's coming down in RPMs the stick will do exactly what the OP says his is doing. I usually have to be driving "spiritedly" for a few miles before it happens. It doesn't do it the first time i "engine brake". That being said i have wondered if it's a temprature related thing.

It hasn't seemed to cause any damage, or effected performance or shifting ability. Seems to just be an anomaly.

I get a similar sound if i drive through a decently deep puddle too.
