The YouTube vid is of an FD, which only has 5 gears...

IMO, it's a cool mod, but for $2K, I would rather spend it on suspension. Now, if you really want to know what's the cat's *** for transmission mods, this is all you need (at a mere $10K, it's practically a bargain; I'll take 2!)

Default IKEYA sequential shifter for my 350z

Hi all,

I would like to order an IKEYA sequntial shifter, but everybody said that making time is very very big (approx. 6 months).
Well I would like to inform about where did you buy it?
How much was it?
How much is the making time?
I have already written to 3 shops that I would like to order it but they also said that I have to wait it between 6 and 12 months.
Have you got any experience about it or have you got any idea where I can buy one of them? Because I don't really wait a half year for it.

Regards,
Feri

Hey, so to answer your questions, I got it from Speed Alliance in San Diego, Ask for Dat. I got a deal so call him he'll take care of you. He got it shipped from Japan within a week or so. Good Luck!!

I've always wondered why sports cars don't come as standard with a sequential shift (I know its cost prohibitive, which is a shame) just like motorcycles as shifting is so much quicker.

IMO it removes some of the enjoyment for DD like myself. Sure, it may help on tracking/dragging but for the higher percentage of Z/sports car owners that ues it for DD/leisure weekend strolls, it's all about the feeling!

How do you figure it removes the fun out of driving....each time I get in to the car it adds so much more excitement to driving...just to be clear, the only thing that changed was the 'H' pattern to an 'I', its still easy to shift into gears as before...If you haven't tried it you don't know what you're talking about. If you're concerned about feeling, this just takes you to the next level of excitement!!!!

Yeh just had word back today they are going into production soon. The company I ordered it through stuffed up. I drove a car with one and it's so good. Never miss a gear or never hook the wrong gear. Don't listen to these guys who say the shifters are a waste of time.
