Default KEYWORDS: ABS/ABLS 2007/2008 - on/off switch

So where do I start? Well lets start with pass threads...

History on the topic!

http://g35driver.com/forums/drivetra...-vdc-real.html
https://my350z.com/forum/engine-driv...bling-vdc.html

So when I was a little less modified. I was unable to break small 265 tires free to do a standing burnout. Others have had this issue aswell. I know how to do a burnout. Pretty straight forward, yet in my 07 nismo the car would start to slip then bog and come to a stop/stall. Now with 285s a burnout came rather easy!

EDIT:

ABS/ABLS is the culprit.

EDIT:

So I had a friend (electronic technician navy) 2nd class personnel test out the plugs going to the VDC box on the 07/08s. Since there is no BOSCH bos as other Z/G models have.

my friend going through each pin checking power. Note a few pins I don't know why had spikes. Only one had 12-14.xx readings...cut it!

isolated the wire with power...it's ziptied...

the red covered switch is the ABS/TCS switch...DANGER! . Since I cut the power essentially ABS/TCS is out the window!

SO

Put my car back together...then I hit the mountain...

I'm still confused what the point of doing that is.

EDIT: corrected information

Simply this mod gives the car a ABS switch, by killing the whole box!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the main culprit here the ABS? Our Nismo's come with TCS, not VDC, and TCS can already be turned off. So, this modification was more to increase the convenience of disabling the ABS (everything actually), than pulling the brake light fuse? If that's the case, then I think it's a neat idea.

So I've tested and researched my last so called mod. I can educately <----not sure if word, say that it does cut that controlling box! What exactly? Since the Nismo models doesn't have a VDC button. VDC isn't the controlling factor, I've read into ABS/ABLS and all it's functions also since the box has everything merged into one box still unsure if the underling feature is one. Reason behind this is that the models with VDC have a switch leaving this box. Turn off the button and some complain that something is still ghosting driving habits? Then maybe it's the box itself, which leads

Since driving with it (ABS) off I've locked up the brakes intentional in a brake test with everything cut off. I'm no expert in anything so please don't recreate this mod!

Conclusion: This is just as pulling the brake fuse.

Your just installing a switch across the brake fuse from the sounds of it. By opening a toggle switch you are in effect breaking the fuse and disabling the ABS! At the drag strip I would remove the brake light fuse to prevent an RPM drop while doing burnouts. I only did this once. I baby my clutch! To many other bills to be forcing a clutch replacement.

Some nice cars. I wish we had a scene like that around here. The few Z's around here are all riding on chrome 20's with ghetto graphics!

Man...fear of not being around such enthusiast, really makes me wanna settle down here in Hawaii!

The roads are getting better, and hopes and dreams of the track re-opening or a new track being built is the dream of people twice my age here in Hawaii!

Today, I cruised down to a subi dyno day at Rads Motorsports. The only owner under 25 was my junior sailor...the other owners where all family men three kids and a wife and a 400whp grocery getter! Again it makes you wonder what we Nissan guys are doing being Nissan guys...

If I had a family, I'd definitely think about getting a subi. Since I don't, I'm glad I can hold on to my Nismo, which I think is a better definition and example of a "sports car" than the subi.
