Yeah man, selling your Nismo would be a bad choice. Being away from my car for 3 months already, I miss driving her. I wouldn't do it and as people have been saying, get a beater.

For clarification, you're 24, paid your own cash for a NISMO, and still live with your parents?

To be honest, your parent should not be saying anything to you at all regarding your car. If they are worried about you driving your car in winter, just buy a winter beater for $3-4k.

I am also 24 live with my rents and have a nismo although I have a car note on it. I would say get a 4th gen nissan maxima or the like for a daily. That's what I did. It is too hard to keep a car nice if it sees the snow here in MN.

^Yea I wouldn't be able to afford it any other way. I bought it when I was 21. Northeastern gives you co-ops where you work for 6 months then go to school for 6 months. So I got the money from that.

Update: I just put an offer in on a place in Boston and it has parking! I'm pretty pumped but the only bummer is that the spot is tandem (Meaning 2 people share 1 spot, one behind the other.) This means I will have to leave a spare set with whoever is behind me and vice versa.

However, I might just all ways keep my car in the blocked in spot and move theirs every time I need to get in and out. God knows if they can even drive a stick. Anyone else have experience with tandem spots?

^ I hear ya, but IMO a car is ment to be driven. I'd rather have a scratch or two every now and then and drive the hell out of it.

Now with the car and the condo, I really have no money to put towards a beater. Hope the Nismo can survive the city! (Yes I got wheel locks)

Sounds like your parents are chinese or indian LoL. You're 24 enjoy it.. what are you supposed to get a car like when your 37 with 2 kids?

If you're worried about snow buy 2 blizzak tires for the rear of the car. Also, the roads are undrivable in boston like 5 days a year because of snow. That gives you 360 days a year of good driving.

^ Lol you must have read my rant on Foreigners driving nice cars.

No I'm actually 100% white. Italian decentancy.

Cars paid off, its just going to be the insurance in Boston thats going to be the killer. I think its like $1,000 increase over the suburbs.

not to push the next gen version of my car, but why don't you sell the z and get an 07-08 6mt G35 sedan. Same VQ35HR and rwd(granted it weighs more). but i bet you can get a certified one for around the cost of a new civic si(also not a bad car, but you aren't allowed to say that on z/g forums). Do some suspension mods to the G and you have a 4 door luxurious under the radar z...sort of.

or grow a pair

probably the mature answers is sell the car, buy something much cheaper and move out of mommy and daddy's house

I'm not going to sell it. The more I think about it, even if I did the only benifit would be going from RWD to FWD for winters up here

For the amount of money I got, the best I could do is buy a new Civic. It just doesn't make sense.

The only reason I would do it is for $20,000 in my pocket. I got the house payments covered its just going to be tight with the car payments for insurance and such.

I'm actually going to make a thread on the regular site, but anyone park their nismo in an urban area? Has/is it safe... and does it keep you up at night knowing it's not garaged in a city.

I am going to be living on relativly quiet street in the Back Bay of Boston, so hopefully there won't be two many thugs around, but it is on street parking... Any suggestions?

Sorry I came in late.. Why do you have to explain anything to your parents?

Love those girls.. Thx.

My advice and I'm older than you is have a good time in life. Make your own decisions. Live your own life. Your parents can't live it for you. They aren't going to agree with all your decisions but either is anyone else in your life.

Youre young.. Do things that you enjoy. There's plenty more stress later in life. Great life lesson for you. Getting over dissappointing your parents and doing what you want. Won't be the first or last.

my mom actually told me to sell that stoopid 240 and buy a Z because they look nicer. Come on if a girl is turned off because you drive a "playboy" car then should you really even try to have something with that girl? IMO just keep it parents don't know shyt. Buy a truck for the winter and you get good reliability in snow and also back seats for the secks
