I don't really think he's an idiot if he's moving on to something else. As you have been shown, the body work can always be purchased. It's the car itself that is the limited edition, there's no matching numbers under the bumper.
Regardless, taking off the Nismo kit is still ruining the car as a whole, and it's hurting it's value. So yea, he's an idiot.
