Default Search for a Nismo

I have been shopping around for a 350 for the last two months or so and still haven't quite found the one I want. I almost pulled the trigger on a '06 Touring model with 55K miles last month for 16.9k but changed my mind at the last min. I also just went to look at what I thought was a 07 enthusiast but turned out the dealer didn't know what they had and it was a base model. After lurking around on the forums and the internet I've decided I really really want a Nismo 350 now. The only thing is, I can't seem to find any within a decent distance from where I live.

I have checked all the major auto sale websites including craigslist and e-bay still with no luck. I was just wondering how you Nismo owners went about searching for your Nismo? I'm currently in Greenville, SC and I would be willing to travel 250-300 miles to pick it up. Any advice from you experienced car buyers out there?

Search this forums under cars for sale. Jnathan68 is selling a beautiful nismo fully equipped, even with high end stoptech brakes front and rear. One thing to consider, Nismos tend to hold on to their value due to them being rare. Don't be surprised if you find yourself compromising to the asking prices. Good luck.

What are you looking to spend? I see them pop up from time to time.

Yeah I should have been more clear in my first post, I don't have problems finding Nismos but more so finding them within a decent distance from where I am. The majority of the ones I have seen are on the west coast, southwest, or south Florida. My original budget before I started looking for Nismos was 20k but I'd be willing to go 23K for a Nismo that has been well taken care of. Preferably never tracked and if it has been tracked I would want it to have the proper upgrades to withstand that kind of abuse.

patience, i was in the same boat a week and a half ago, i waited it out.
searched everywhere, craigs list, car forums, auto trader, basically every where on the internets.

there were only 2 in michigan when i was looking and i snagged one, all the others i found worthy of driving for were in florida, texas and california, and if i couldnt have got one here i would have went out of state to get one.

good luck

Pfft, Nismo is nothing great. Get a lightweight base and throw in a real LSD.

If you're looking for an untracked car or a tracked car with upgrades, you may be limiting yourself.

@ChuckW,

Before I considered getting a 350, I was seriously considering getting an S2K or an '01-03' Boxster S but I realized maintenance on the Boxster was gonna push me way out of my budget and although the S2k was a fun car I didn't like the everyday driveability. So while you may think the Nismo isn't anything special that is your opinion, I just happen to fall in love with the 350 and I really have grown to like the Nismo... So I have my heart set on one right now just trying to be patient and find the right one for me.

There's a red one in NJ on autotrader. Looks really good. It's 10mins from the airport. Could probably buy a round trip ticket for cheap money and if you don't like it, fly back. I almost did that for one in Maryland but then I found a Nismo a 1/2hr from me. Just be patient.

I bought mine by flying from Cali to Ohio and driving it home. Here is the thing...you are looking for a limited production car. You have 2 options. Wait until one pops up in your area and hope it is the one you want at the price you want. It may take a while but sooner or later it will happen.

The other option is to be willing to travel to buy it. By doing this, you open up much more possibility of finding the one you want at the price you want. Factor in that you will get a much better deal if you are willing to travel and the travel costs plus car should still not be any more than waiting for one to pop up locally. Plus, who doesn't love a good road trip

Cmatt32 I live in Fort Lauderdale, FL and I flew up to North Carolina to get my Nismo and drove it back. I picked it up this past February. I tried to buy 3 locally and all got sold before I could work out a deal. Its not a car to rush to get it will come be patient.

I guess I did it backwards. I went to see one for sale privately from autotrader about 3 hours from me. Saw it twice and decided it was te one. He actually drove it to me the next weekend and flew back. But I live close to a small airport and he had his flight instructor fly there and he flew the plane back for credit hours.
