The issue with this diffuser is two things.

1st, it is only at the very edge of the rear bumper which leave it no time to transition the air back to ambient.

2nd, the rake is too large. See my post above about the ski slope and imagine you are air rushing under that car and all of sudden the bumper nearly goes perfectly vertical.

Nothing in that design tells me it does anything.

Are we looking at 2 different ARC diffusers for the NISMO? The only one I see looks like it does minimum if anything at all and only works with their single exhaust.

The pictures are deceiving it goes all the way to the diff. Then covers the side without the single exhaust completely. I have a make shift plate from the diff back on my Nismo.

Can you point me to a picture of it? I can't find any image showing that it extends to the sides. I do see that it goes to the diff but if it doesn't close off the bottom of that bumper, it can't be all that functional IMO since it is only capturing a small area of the air running under the car..

Here is the best image I could find.

The ARC diffuser only applies for single exhaust kits. What about us with dual exhaust?

Funny, I just looked over the pics and I dunno if it was an email or actual picture. I fully remember that it extend to the right more.

Either way

Something like this would he idle for the Nismo couple vents and a little more angle. I think it would be nice, nothing to extreme...subtle would do it and tie the look up nicely

That is a nice and functional design. I guarantee those "wings" are their to help turn the air up in preperation for that hard angle. A solution to the example I meantioned using ski'ing as the metphore. They also left a gap for air that ran above the diffuser to exit the rear.

We don't plan on having to make a hard angle on exit but if we did, employing those wing pieces would be perfect.

It's cool how they have an oil/diff cooler above the arc diffuser. Very well thought out. Now if that was in the sub-$500 region and worked with the stock dual exhaust, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I like that too but it can't be producing much of anything for downforce.

Also, yeah, the price for that seems pretty high for it although, I do have the ARC belly pan and it has taken a beating for nearly 2 years and not one dent!

ARC makes some quality stuff.

We should be test fitting the diffuser tomorrow to check design and clearances.

It is waiting for me to swing through so we can mount it and trim the initial design.

Here is the pic he sent me.

Keep in mind this is made very thin so we can trim it easily. It is also just the tunnel right now. Once we fit it, trim it and make any other modifications necessary, we will then take measuresments and cad it in solidworks then run a cfd on it.

The final piece will be carbon fiber. If it functions well and customers want it, we will have the option of either fiberglass (probably with kevlar in it) or carbon fiber.

I think you all know that when I have something done custom, it's done in the highest quality but the most capable people like the HR intake manifold for my car.
