All 3 runs were done in 4th gear. The event was held at ET tuning in Union, Mo on a dyno jet.

HP 284.68

5th IS the right gear to dyno on. I only had Stillen Gen 3 intakes on my NISMO when I put it on the dyno last year at the Motorsport Annual Z show in Orange, Ca. Here were my results:

Dyno Dynamics Dynamometer (5th gear pull):

HP 252.9
TQ 239

That's a big difference between the both of us even though we have the same car and mods

I think when comparing dyno sheets, what's more important than running a 1:1 ratio is running it on the same type of machine. The difference in numbers could be because of this (scale factor used with Dyno Dynamics) and many other factors unrelated to the mods.

It's the shops man...some don't set thier machines up correctly! His numbers are indeed lower than the norm 260+/-.

My intial dyno with K&N drop-ins were 264 and since then I only gained 20whp on the same machine....still has me confused

Yeah, I was disappointed at the results too, but those are the numbers I got. It isn't a hub dyno. Here's a pic I found that I took while it was on the dyno.

The only power mod I have added since this is a HKS true dual exhaust. I really want to put my Nismo on another dyno and see the results. I'll still do it in 5th gear though.

Many people were bummed out from getting low numbers on their Z as well. I actually had been previously disappointed there 3 years prior when I took my old 2003 350Z. At the time of the dyno these were my mods on it: JWT popcharger (intake), JVT headers, Meagan Racing test pipes, Nismo S-tune cat-back exhaust, Motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer, and underdrive lightweight pulleys (crank, power steering, and alternator). These were my results on that:

HP 241.5
TQ 239.9

and here's a vid I found on youtube that someone took of it, in case anyone is interested to see how it sounded/looked. This one was also done on 5th gear.

Wow. I am not too sure I would want to rev up my car to nearly 8,000 rpm on a dyno that looks like I am on the downhill side of a Pikes Peak race. Looks scary.

My stock dyno was 241whp, at HP logic on their fantastically low reading dyno. Car runs just as good as it would if it made 280+ at another dyno that reads high. Just a number guys, there's really no reason for this discussion in EVERY dyno thread. Unless you are comparing between your same car and your same dyno with different mods to see a gain, there's not much point.

Wow you were at 241whp? Damn dyno numbers aren't as accurate as I thought.
