Default Calling all Previous Nismo 538 Owners!!

I found this car local to me and the dealer said it has had 4 owners. I have only found this thread from 2008:
https://my350z.com/forum/nismo-350z/...smo-538-a.html

Details from pictures and calling dealer:
Lowered on springs (unknown brand)
Megan single
Injen CAIs
Aftermarket Y (I'm guessing Megan, but idk for sure)
Pioneer Head unit
Alpine amp on top of spare tire

Does anyone know personal history for this car?

I would LOVE to pick up a Nismo to replace my Z but I don't want to pick up someone's (or 4 someones') mess.

I have pined over the Nismo since I got my Z in 2010 (I couldn't afford it then)

What is everyone's opinion on me selling my Z (Base 08 62k miles with VLSD and mods) and Picking this Nismo (58k miles) up?

Pics of the Car at the dealer and a picture of my Z for comparison.

UPDATE:
I got the carfax and it has had a minor front end collision where there was no structural damage or airbag deployment. It's had 1 owner in SC and 1 or 2 in Minnesota and Iowa. It was sold in 9 months I believe that 3 of the "5 owners" are dealers buying or transferring the car.

EDIT: I believe the car has sold. It is no longer on the dealer's site. Looks like I'm "stuck" with my Z

I personally love nismos and if you've wanted one for the longest time I say go for it. Lifes to too short but the 4 owners is a bit scary so might want to get it checked out first (good mechanic, check vehicle history through vin, etc).

cheap exhaust would be my only concern. you get several benefits from buying the nismo.. as you are well aware (yamaha dampners, brembos, seam welded chassis) but is it worth it to you to start over on a new car?

**edit, also 19" wheels are more expensive than 18s

Your current car looks better than a nismo IMO... I'd take a modified base model over nismo anyday. When the HR nismo first came out, I thought they were fugly then later it grew on me and I can respect the look now.

Thanks for the advice. My IDEAL situation would be:
buy the nismo on a loan. Swap any parts from my Z that I wanted, and then sell my Z. I'm getting married this August and trying to move before then so money is on my mind as far as i need to find a job, but have a good one for now. My fiancé will move to KC for school so I'd have to pay her rent there buy moving in with her sister and bro in law.

Starting over would just be me wanting new wheels since i do like the RPF1S a ton....

The Z is paid off. That's a huge Pro for keeping my Base model. I hate the term "YOLO" but I have put myself 2nd for going on 2 years. Yes, all the decisions are mine, but they have been to better the relationship. NOt to get off topic and rant about the soon to be ol ball and chain, but she has never made more than 35k, and has always talked about "getting a 2nd job". Literally for 4 years. I have always footed 95% of the bills, and until now, I was just dumber with money. I never OVER spent, but if i had it I spent it on parts- either flipping to make 50-200$ profit, or trading straight across. And recently I have put my cars maintenance (needs shocks) second since "we have to save". I have barely driven my car in 2 years because of crappy roads, and not wanting to eat up my 19s (had GTS before the RPF1s) and I even got square RPF1s with square tires to be able to rotate them, and then even flip them to "quadruple" the tire life. (plus I wanted to try a neutral feel to the car )

I would essentially turn the Nismo into my current Z and put all the parts I didn't want from the Nismo on my current Z and sell mine like that.

Any thoughts there?

EDIT: Travlee, you upgraded to a Z06 I'm guessing? I can't drive my Z to it's capability yet so I wouldn't need more power. And as far as an upgrade goes, I think me keeping the current (or Nismo) shows I don't want to upgrade. I know I can add cruise to my base, but that costs ~$500. And I want to have the front and rear bumpers resprayed and that's ~500-3000 depending on who and how it's done. That puts me reasonably close to the Nismo cost.

And I DON'T see myself spending twin turbo money on the Z as I would just go with a Z06 as well for that money!!

Where was the car's previous locations?

If it was in an area that saw snow, I wouldn't worry about the higher number of past owners. Most of the guys around me sell them at the end of a season or two (once they realize how much of a pain in the *** it is to store them).

Think you answered your question br0.

Are you the original owner of suZy?
I'm the original owner of my car and I will not trade it for a nismo that's gone through 4 owners. Everyone's opinion may differ than mine and I'm not trying to deter you away from getting that nismo... just throwing in my 2 cent, what you asked for.

Original owner of the Nismo was one of the Carolinas. Idk after that. I haggled the dealer a bit so I know there is some play.

I'm guessing you looked in my photo album to get my car's name? Hahaha, I'm the 2nd owner of SuZyfrom 8k miles to 62k.

I WOULD leave the Nismo basically as is but the 19s are tuff on the tire budget. Plus besides the look of the RPF1S, i like the functionality. And it's lowered on some springs so I'd want my camber and toe kit. My GReddy undoubtedly sounds better imo than the Megan so that's the route there. Everything else is about the same. Except upgraded. Hahaha....

honestly the cruise control and exclusivity are the biggest draw for me.

Yes, I was checking out your photo album, quite a transiition. IMO, You have all the supporting mods a Nismo need, so I see your logic. I'll leave the springs out and get proper coils though.

GL with your decision.

Oh, that's my next move no matter what car they go on. But if the Nismo has more of a drop than my Z has, I might not be able to run my wheel set up without adding camber so I'dwant to be able to know what camber is needed out of the gate.

My fiancé is against the loan idea and it does scare me a bit to own TWO Zs until the one sells. I'm over the initial "f*&k it, I'm buying that SOB" impulsive phase so now I'm thinking more clearly about it. I need to call and have them give me a car fax report to find where it's been! (And if the p/o at least wore a condom)
