So I have been looking to buy my first z. I finally found a nice one that I like, it is an 05 track edition 350z. The ad says 350z track edition pre-nismo and says that the car has some nismo parts on it. Heres the ad: (http://louisville.craigslist.org/cto/4982976594.html)
I think I am going to buy the car because I really like it and it has low miles. I was just wondering if all these nismo parts came factory because I haven't been able to find another car like it. Thank you.
edit* Also is the increase in hp just from the nismo parts being put on the car?
Inly "nismo" thing is the exahust and i doubt thats real. Secondly the brembos are not nismos exclusive. The cloth seat is not a nismo seat. Over all, dumb seller, overpriced ****
So its just an aftermarket exhaust? Normally I wouldn't trust a seller after that, but I took it to my mechanic this morning and he said it was in great shape. Plus its 16k for a z with 33xxx miles, its the only z I have come across in the 10-15K price range that doesn't have close too or more than 100xxx miles and or a rebuilt title.

Mileage and age are relevant to one anothwr. Just cause its low mile doesnt mean its good mechanically. Age breaks down rubber components.
16k for a 350z is consider over price where im at.
Wow i should move out by you! I looked it up on kbb and its around 18k. As far as the rubber breaking down my uncle (my mechanic) said it needs a new fan belt but thats it and thats cheap.
$16,900 It's not worth that IMO.
The positives, it is a Track model with low miles, it has an R-tune intake, S-tune exhaust, v1 wing, v1 rear under spoiler.
The negatives, the seller is an idiot, it is not a rare car, those aren't Nismo seats, they are the OEM seats that came in that car, it doesn't have the beautiful v2 Track wheels made by Rays, I may be wrong but I don't think those are Volk wheels, they don't look like any Volk I've ever seen and on top of that they're hideous, and he painted the grill red, it looks like ****.
I'd pass on this car.
^ exactly..... i bought my hr with 35k miles in 2011 for $23k, they are cheaper now and you should be able to get one for that price. patience pays off, not to mention seller is trying to scam people... the only real nismo's are 07-08.
Haha thanks guys. But i guess these cars are more expensive in my area i looked it up on kbb and well heres fhe results. I did find an 09 370z with the same miles for $21,800 at a dealer but insurance was more and my dad wont let me spend that much on a car. Plus even if he did id have 0 dollars to my name which means no money for mods
This is for an 05 track edition with 33xxx miles
Well damn that pic was for buying from a dealer. Here it is for private party

A Track is the most desirable model of that era and I would certainly be willing to pay a bit of a premium to get a low mileage example in perfect condition. For the early Zs, Nissan sold a few Nismo dress up accessories. This car has a nice and pricey Nismo cold air intake, and according to the ad Nismo front floor mats (not a big deal). Also it has the shinier, but basic Nismo rear muffler, it doesn’t appear to be the much more desirable Nismo S-tune exhaust (I'm not really sure about that, can't tell with that picture).
Too bad this car doesn’t still have the excellent Track model lightweight forged wheels. A real set of Volk GTF wheels are also excellent and retail for about $4,000. The wheels on this car look different than a real GTF, the spoke pattern is not quite the same and the allen screws around the rim barrel have a different array. There are a lot of cheaply made Volk copies out there. I’m not sure if these are real Vorks or not, maybe somebody else can confirm.
The 2005 Track and Anniversary models as well as all the 2006 manual transmission cars had the DE rev-up engine. This engine is a bit of an orphan as it was only made for a short while. It also has a bad reputation for very excessive oil consumption. Not every rev-up burned oil, but a large number of them did and Nissan never really had a definitive fix for it. A good mechanic can usually tell if an engine is an oil burner or not, so look carefully for that.
The ad did state or best offer to the listed price, so this car might be a good buy.
The volks are real. The exhaust is oem nismo s tune which means 3 in piping. The intake is oem nismo. The wing looks oem. Its a track model. Id say go for it. What one person paid or got a deal doesnt mean you will. Like you say in your area its decent. Go for it.
Thank you so much you all were a big help I was pretty unsure of the car when i first read that ad. But now I am confident in the car and am meeting the seller tomorrow morning to buy it for 16k (i tried to get it for 15 but he wouldnt go lower than 16..oh well ). The wheels look alot better in person but since they really are Volks i may sell them to help offset the cost of the car (not to crazy about the red and chrome). Thank you!
Welcome to The community. Yes it it quite hard to find a good car for a reasonable price in our area, Got mine out of Memphis. Doesnt matter where you buy or for how much it's a depreciating asset, someone paid $30k for that car new. Local Z club meets at Collins Nissan on 5/18 at 6pm.
Ad is gone, but do you have any pics? I wanted to see what the exhaust was since someone here called it an "oem nismo s tune". It's either oem nismo, or it's s tune.
