Custom Front License Plate Bracket for Nismo V3 Bumper
I installed a Nismo V3 Front bumper on my 2003 350Z, but didn't want to drill holes into the urethane bumper to use the Nissan license plate bracket. I also didn't like how high the front license plate would mount. I thought it ruined the lines of the Nismo V3 bumper.
I couldn't find a suitable solution for purchase, so I made one. My hope is that if someone out there is in the same situation, these photos will help you build your own front license plate bracket.
My goals were: 1. no holes drilled into the front urethane bumper. 2. the front license plate would sit inside the recess of the V3 bumper. 3. The bracket would be removable to show the bumper without a front plate. 4. I would still have front tow hook function.
After many measurements, I made the following components out of stainless steel plate, stainless steel tubing, stainless steel threaded rod (M16-2.0, b/c that's the threads on the 2003 factor tow hook), and stainless steel tube nuts (also M16-2.0). Once test fitted, I painted some of the parts.
Here are all the parts:
