Default 07/08 Nismo shares same OEM HR Y-Pipe

Just looking for clarification. 07 08 nismo come with the HR oem Y pipe not a nismo spec Y Pipe correct?

What did the nismo y pipe come on or was it just an after market oem option?

If I'm not mistaken, the 07/08 Nismo's have typical HR Y-Pipes. The Nismo S-Tune exhaust setup increases the ID of the piping to 3" from the cats. The Nismo S-tune exhaust system included the larger ID Y-pipe. I don't believe it was sold separately from the system.

That is correct. We have the same y pipe as an HR from 07-08. No difference.

The S-Tune (which is am aftermarket piece) has a different Y-pipe (really looks like a Y, rather than a V), but it's prone to cracking, and none of the S-Tune pieces are available separately. I've got an S-Tune on my '08 car, with an OEM HR Y-pipe.

Good info dcains. Anyone know if any S tune parts came on a car? Or are they only bought after the car was purchased? Also did any of the nismo pieces come factory on the car aside from the nismo exhaust none s tune on 07 08. Like the nismo headers and y pipe and intakes were those only aftermarket parts or did nissan equip some models with those? What year nismos are there? I know 07 and 08 but is there an earlier nismo year I'm just so confused at all the old nismo parts but no old nismo car like 07 08. Seems like the Y is old and s tune pre dates the 07 and 08.

Yup, the above posts are true. The S tune exhausts were options that you could get. As Travlee said, the older S Tune Z's were way back in the day when they were released.

The 07/08 Nismos have the SAME exhaust parts as a base 07/08 which we all know has the HR engine. The only difference was the catback. Even though it looked stock with the Nismo tips, the piping was different from what I read.

The differences were mostly cosmetic, suspension, and frame (rigidity) related.

This link shows a lot of the differences of a Nismo 2007, 2008.
They are a LOT different than a standard 350z trust me on a race track.

They are the same as an other 07/08. No difference. As Travlee said, the only difference is the seam welded chassis, chassis dampers, suspension, aero, and interior bits.

Everything is the same.

Reviving an old thread -

I believe the Nismo rear anti sway bar have a different part number than the regular HR bar. Can someone measure the diameter of their rear OEM 07-08 Nismo rear bar?
