Default Gap NGK irridiums?

I have heard of ppl gapping there plugs to .30 for nitrous use, even though they are irriduims, my questions is should i gap them or leave them as they come, many people have now told me that even thought i will be spraying there is no need to gap them since they come pre gapped at .44 and gapping and irriduim plug will damage it.

thanks

can you use the stock .042 gap with colder plugs? Why do you need to gap down? is the n2o blowing out the spark with stock gapping?
