I ran a 150 whp shot in my car for more than a year and never had problems.Other parts to run this setup were a MSD Window Switch,Step 2 Cold Sparks,Walbro 255 and a Good clutch, i used a ACT and some good AF tuning.I clocked a 12.0 @ 117 with drag radials and my average time with street tires were 12.5's to 12.8's depending on track conditions.Nitrous is not bad.The key to have a succesful NOS equipped car is tuning and have all the necessary supporting parts for safety.

what do you use to do your AF tuning? SAFC? Timing is not a problem with FI?

sorry, I'm a newbie when it comes to n2o

Thumbs down be careful

I just blew my engine yesterday..I have 2 step colder plugs.
zex wet kit and I was running 100shot.
The shop told me that the cylonoids must of failed and it caused it
to go lean.. I had it for 1 year and when the engine blew I was on the
highway doing 70mph..
I'll never put nitrous on any other car that I own in the future

I love that...He starts a thread asking "if nitrous is safe" then he gets a reply of someone who blew their motors 3 times, and all of a sudden he becomes a mechanic giving a diagnosis and a solution..I really have to sit back and laugh at people sometimes... Dude, no offense, but listen to someone who has done everything you can do on this car at least once, maybe twice..Do not use nitrous, it is WAY to unpredictable for my taste.save the money youll waste on a N2O kit ($1500-2000 to do it right)
and put it towards a form of F/I you dont have to refill al the time..

N2O will blow your engine "instantly" when something goes wrong with the A/F. A wideband will do you no good, neither will a window switch, all that will do is turn it on and off at certain RPM 's, it provides no safety.

Default nitrous

Yes, I didnt plan on making my first post explaining what failed and led to my engine blowing.
The shop that installed it said that the cylonoids failed..
I'm thinking what happened was that I had just filled my bottled and it must of been about 100 degrees that day. I'm thinking that full bottle along with the high temp caused too much pressure on the cylonoids thus causing a leak. I'm not sure how much pressure they can take; maybe someone else can comment on it.
Now I feel that the extra HP just wasnt worth the exposure you put yourself through..
Anyhow.. Good luck if you do go with NO2

if you have weak solenoids, they can't open up under extreme pressure. That is my biggest beef witht eh NOS and Zex kits....wimpy solenoids.

Check out the NX solenoids....freakin' huge!!!

BTW, I've never had a solenoid fail on an NX setup. I had an NOS remote bottle opener (solenoid style) fail on me. What a POS that was. NOS sent me a brand new one, and I ebayed it!!!
