Default Any Blown Motors With Nitrous?

I am planning on going with Nitrous until I get money to build my car for turbo. Is there anything I need to worry about before doing so? I wanted to go with the 100shot and maybe a 150shot if I think my motor will hold up. I will make sure to get a good tune and better injectors and fuel pump so I know I am pushing the right amount of fuel. Which kit is the best? THanks

well with my research ide say zex has the safest setup although NX has a maximizer kit which allows u to set your shot size each gear and so forth. I would like to know too if anyone has blown there motor and how much nitrous they were shooting and how they blew it.

Three different times! (1) destroyed both heads (2) destroyed 4 exhaust valves (3) bent the stock crank and 2 Pauter rods. Gave up counting the blown intakes and plenums. 125-200 shots and in all cases the fuel side of the equation messed up.

Sounds to me you did not have a good tune, and the nitrous was not to blame. Nitrous can be safe as long as you have the right amount of fuel and proper fuel equipment. So how fast did you run with a 200shot? I think I may go with a NX setup.

you wont even feel that 50 shot. Run the ZEX 75 or 100 shot you will be safe. Get the Walbro and be done with. i wouldnt go anything over 125shot on a Z due to the constent 3d AF tuning the ecu has

Nitrous companies, all make different stuff.

We can argue which is bettter till the cows come home.

Go w/ what ur shop knows best.

I agree over 100 i would consider upgrading the fuel system.

Anything under 75 is a WASTE!

ANY UPGRADE can blow your engine.

Using the walbro will allow a constant fuel rate to be sent so while on the BOTTLE so you dont run out of fuel. alittle extra always helps plus its only 100 bucks why not do it?

im not sure on the amount of fuel that the stock pump can produce i always just upgrade the damn thing

Zex systems are always rated alittle lower for some reason... i ran a ZEX system on My NX2000 sr20de for 2 years 125 shot on 91 oct. ran very very hard

ZEX kits are rated "at the crank"

NX kits are rated "at the wheels"

I read that on this forum somwhere.

A while back.....there was a guy that posted regularly here from Puerto Rico who boasted of continuously increasing his "shot".

One of his last posts was about having a SMOKE problem.

Be careful.

I've been running the NX setup with 100 shot jets for a while now. No maximizer, no Walbro fuel pump and no bigger injectors, only one step colder plugs. Works like a champ and pulls hard. Just make sure you get the colder plugs and definately get a wet kit. At the track with 100 shot, exhaust and popcharger, I ran a 12.6 @ 109 on drag radials with an OK 60' (1.81).

yes colder plugs work fuel pump is added safegaurd. No need to run big injectors leave the car stock on the engine components and squeeze the fun out of it. it will run good with headers and exhaust system n20 loves free flow
