Nitrous isn't something to really jump into lightly, or without much knowledge on. Do a search on here, there have been plenty of informative threads about this topic, but here is a general summary IMO:

Start off with a "gentle" shot of 50hp or so, to get used to how nitrous works on your car. Gradually increase as desired, but remember to not get too power hungry, the motor will not like you for that....

As for kits, a entry level system for the Z would be a single fogger wet kit. This means that you have one nozzle (single fogger) in your intake prior to the throttle body, and that it injects nitrous and fuel (wet) at the same time. One of the nicest kits out there is the NX nitrous kit, found here:

Now, a few things to remember for safety; have it installed by a pro, i can't stess this enough. Also, do not cut into your factory fuel line you may regret it later on, instead we recomend to use a "t" fitting that allows you to tap into the fuel line without any cutting etc... Also, always run at least one-step colder spark plugs, to keep the detonation in check.
Nitrous is perfectly safe as long as you know how to use it.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Nitrous Express (NX) is the only way to go. WHEEL HP ratings, not flywheel, warranty, best design, safest kits. If you do decide to go with nitrous...look up as much info about how to use it. There are quite a few rules to follow when spraying. Just to name a few:

1) Don't spray under 2500-3000 rpms
2) Only spray at WOT (most kits come with a WOT switch)
3) Don't spray more than 15 seconds (nitrous is for short burst, not long hauls)
4) Make sure pressure is between 900-1050psi (too low and you don't get enough nitrous, too high and you too much)

Nitrous is no joke....but once you have the rules down, its the safest, cheapest, best (IMO) form of forced induction. And you retain stock driving characteristics when not on the juice!
