I runned nitrous in my Z before. my emotions were mixed. Where would I start?..............Hmmmm.........

Ok lets see the gains on the "butt" dyno were fair. I say yeah you feel it but its not always there. You have to be really cautious and the risks are not worth the gains in my opinion. I always had the worry that somethign may happen even though i had the proper setup.

In turn I decided to sell the kit, save my money and go FI. No offense, Nitorus is great but really is not always there, the power that is.

I never really got to dyno the car so I may be wrogn as to what Im saying but nitrous is nothing compared to FI, on a streetable shot at least.

Hi Banshee...you might want to look in the engine/fi section of the forum, there is a part for NOS with alot of good info for you. maybe move this there and more people will help you.

If you're not experienced with the nitrous, definitely get some professional advice and get a good kit installed right by someone who knows what they're doing. Whats your goals with the bottle? Hopefully only for drags. I'd save up $$$ to build up the engine / go forced-induced.

nitrous gives you best bang for the buck bottom line. just dont cut corners. the only downside to nitrous is that its not always on which can be a good thing depending on what your looking for or incase your car is a daily driver and the extra power is not always in demand.

so you decided nitrous was unsafe and you ran off and got a greddy twin turbo... the TT kit that has blown more engines than any other on a 350z. another thing nitrous is FI, just a chemical version.

for the poster, if you want a safe setup, get a nice rich 75 shot with a dyno run to check the AFR's and you will be fine. im running 100 and have no issues for over a year.

audiblemayhem is who I consult for info. I'll tell you that I've had my NX 100 shot for 2 weeks now and, despite what others say, you absolutely can tell the difference. My car ROCKS. I suggest that you use engine management to control it though. I have UTEC.

And as others have suggested, you really need to pay attention to you air/fuel ratio. This, of course, can be tuned to near perfection using UTEC.

People keep blaming the TT kits left and right when in reality it all comes down to who does the install and if the install is doen properly. I have many friends relly pushing this same kit and no problems what so ever. I also have friends with nitrous with every single safety device and yes 6 out of 10 have no worries but then again they dotn use it but 2 a month maybe and then the other 4 have major issues!

To each his own. I have had both turbo and nitrous on several cars. Bottom line, turbo is a headache. More moving parts, more things to keep cool, more oil to distribute, and more issues - period. I don't care who you are, nitrous is safer. If you are a moron, anything will blow your engine. Follow the rules of nitrous, keep pressure steady, and don't abuse it and your car will run forever. I sprayed on my civic for the better part of 2 years. The car ran perfect the day I sold it. Sprayed the hell out of that motor too. When you spend $4000 ($7000 on the Z) for a turbo and then more money on tuning, you really don't want to spend more money addressing critical problems. With nitrous, all you spend is $500 for a kit. Other guys (including myself) with get all the goodies along with the kit and spend close to $2000. The end result is no headaches, easy to tune, power on demand.

Had turbo on my accord....it was in the shop every weekend. Boost leakage, engine getting hot, check engine light coming on...the list goes on. That wasn't the only turbo car I had either. Some problems had to do with timing - I had my 91 accord turbo back in 93. Yes, 1993. You didn't really have a choice when it came to management. You were stuck with check valves and jerry rigs alot of times. Running 12.1 @ 121mph was cool, but not when you had to service the thing on a weekly bases. My Supra had issues as well. But then again, 700HP is hard to keep reliable. Nitrous has never done me wrong in 10 years. I think that's a pretty good track record. Just make sure you do your research and follow the rules of nitrous!!

I was planning on doing TT setup. But I have more things against me then with me on that decision. It's a daily car and I can't afford to have it sit in the shop for months for install. I like hearing the fact that as long as you know what you're doing, NOS is very safe. I plan on doing a lot more research on this as I did on SC and TT. I will probably be on this part of the site now more often then not. Can anyone tell me how long it took to get a NOS kit installed? Just curious. Thanks guys.

3 hrs is definitely not that long of an install time. Sounds like a feasible system after all.

I have found a shop in Redlands, CA called bottle fed racing that specializes in N0S, The owner told me he has done a few 350Z's and a ton of G35's, he says it is completely safe to run a wet 80 shot. He gave me a price of $700 installed with the TPS and said it would take about 4-6 hours. What do you think?

i think 700 installed for a kit is a fair price. there is a shop around here tryin to charge 1200 for installed kit with nothing but the bottle and the WOT switch... insane.
