Need help with utec / zex
I wish to sue my utec as a window switch. Does anyone run this setup, if so can you please pm with instructions for doing so.
I am aware of people using other systems, but the zex kit's selnoids are sealed in a box and works off wide open throttle only....

ive heard the utec can be used as a window switch and a throttle position switch.
audiblemayhem may be able to shed some light...
but, while im here, did you install the zex kit yourself? I cant get the led on my zex to light up, i know it has power/ground but what im wondering is if it needs the tps signal too (its hooked up, just havent double checked to make sure the t-tap did the trick).

pmed, hope i helped out. its pretty easy to do... just remember the utec is a switch that switches the GROUND, i hook this to the relays that controls the solenoids on the ground side of the relay...
Still having no luck with this.. my shop can't figure it out. Trying but no luck so far. I'm actually thinking about removing the utec all togeather... my car drives so much smoother without it on. Plus with my 100hp shot i think I'm ok on stock ecu.... not as fancy but sometimes simple is better.
ok, make sure the shop knows this...
Most switches in cars actually switch the power side of something.
the utec switches the GROUND side of it, it needs to still have power fed to the relay like normal but instead of grounding the relay normally, you run the ground to the wires off the utec, the little black wire needs to be grounded to the car and the red wire is the switchleg.
call them and tell them what i just typed and hopefully they can figure it out. the utec doesnt supply power to anything...
