75 or 100?
I have a stock car other then the popcharge intake. I want to put nitrus on and i was thinking going with a 75 shot to be safe. Going 75 shot instaed of 100 is that gonna be much different as far as safety for my engine?
I have nitrous and I've done a lot of research on this topic. I also spoke directly with Nitrous Xpress. As a dealer, NX reccommends nothing more than a 75 shot with one steo colder plugs. However, after reading numerous forum posts of Z's with nitrous, it seems that a 100 shot(installed correctly and tested properly) on stock internals safe for our car. Members have posted after 1-2 years of nitrous and no problems. HOWEVER, there are exceptions to everything.....so spray wisely!!!
I love my nitrous....I've been on a 75 shot for about 2+ weeks now and I;m going to up it to 100 this weekend and feel the difference. I ran a buddy of mine that used to pull hard on me by 3-4 cars, now I walk him.

Gonna have to play with the fuel jets to get the mixture right on anything above a 75 shot. Audible Mayhem was running 150 shot on stock internals (he did have a UTEC though). I'll be running 125 shot with a UTEC - stock block.
You wont even feel a 75 shot on this car man, thats weaksauce. 100 shot minimum, tune the A/F, retard timing to be safe or run 100 octane at least to help you with stock timing if your running that.
you wouldn't think so, but it does.
I started with a 35hp jet just to test the system......and I couldn't feel a thing. totally serious!!!
then, I rejetted for a 50 shot, and I was like "this sucks!. I must have ****ed soemthign up." I took things apart and check the jets to make sure there wasn't a restriction. No restrictions....fuel and nitrous flowed perfectly.
I upped the jets to a 75 shot....now we are getting somewhere, but this is nowhere like I remember my other nitrous experiences.
Finally, up it to the 100 shot (by NX standards - more like a 125 according to NOS). DAMN!!!!!!! I punched it from 2000 in 2nd gear and smoked the hides all the way to redline!!!!! PERFECT!!!!

Cool, I can understand that. I can remember going from a supercharged v8 4runner awd to the na Z, and thinking the Z is pretty quick, then I put the TN kit on there and man it felt like a friggin rocket, then we put the spacer, injectors, fuel return, and exhaust then had it tuned, dear God felt like HE77 on wheels. Now I am going twins with a wicked exhaust, can't wait!!!!
Not trying to steal/hijack the nos thread, but getting kind of excited about my new set up.

I changed my plugs out to NGK iridiums (1 step colder).....that's it!
I ran an NX setup. 52 nitrous jet / 31 fuel jet. It is a little fatter than neccesary, but a bit safer too. I was trapping at a hair under 111 mph in a 6mt G35 Sedan on the spray.
DOC, where in SA did you get your nitrous kit installed? How much did it run you? I myself have never really thought of going with nitrous but man for the price its looking better and better to me..
I go to Top Notch Performance on nacodoches Rd. Mike and Colt run the show there....tell them I sent you and you will get 10% or so off. The price varies depending on what kind of set up you're looking at. Give or take it will run about $1,000 for a 100 HP gain, you can't beat it!!!

necessary accs are: bottle heater, cockpit pressure gauge, and maybe a remote opener if you like to use it a the drop of a hat!
our cars should be around 52 psi. It is dropping while spraying, you need a bigger pump. the stock pump should be fine on a 100 shot though.
Unfortunatley, I didn't have a fuel pressure gauge when I had my nitrous system installed.

I will +1 on the bottle heater. Here in San Antonio when the temp are now in the 50's & 60's in the morning my pressure is way to low to spray. I would definately get the bottle heater. I have 2 5lb bottles, I have not seen warmers for them yet, although I know their available.
