well a new full nitrous setup from me can cause around 800-1200 depending on what goodies you would like, used setups with the same parts go from 450-750 usually. so that 350 or so dollars could cost you thousands in the long run.

i have never bought used nitrous parts and installed them in any car, i wont install used parts at my shop, i will install brand new parts if they are brought to me in the original packaging (NOS.Zex.Venom) but i always recommend nitrous express...

all the other companies have to come up with some gimmick or catch to sell their kits when NX just sells itself cause of quality...

i plan on rebuilding this motor back stronger than ever so he can run 150-250 direct port shot, it will be much more fun that way

keep it safe though....

I was actually there when the guy dropped the car off at jeremy's shop......kinda scary and ironic cause at that time jeremy was puttin in my nitrous kit.....but i know jeremy's work is sick so no worries for me

Jeremy...maybe you can post some pics of your nitrous install just to give us an idea of how everything looks and where things are placed...

By the way congrats on getting started with the shop and for some outstanding prices.

Thanks Jeremy. If they don't warranty my engine, I will come to you for a rebuild. How much does a basic rebuild cost. I think I may have just bent a rod. Not really sure. I wasnt even spraying, I havent sprayed in 4 months. Im so lost. I am pulling the nitrous kit off now and selling it. If I build, I go TWERBO.

i doubt you bent a rod, is the car smoking really bad and running like crap??

or is it just missing really bad..

let me know, be carefull too because dealerships arent stupid, the look for all kind of signs of nitrous, from spark plugs to holes in the floorboard.

let me know what you find out and i will write you a quote up..

no smoke, just ticking really really loud. very very low oil pressure and the car dies as i come to a stop. still runs, but not well. I ran the nitrous lines under the car through a hole in the spare tire well, no drilling. trying to remove everything tonight. do you think i will have an issue if i leave the exhaust, intake, resonated test pipes and plenum spacer on it?

I have ran nitrous in the past and never used one, always checked the plugs and went from there

In my defense I was running the NX Mainline kit, not the top of the line but it was NX. I think it had more to do with my fuel line, about 4 foot long rubber line. I know a few poeple that have / use the Mainline kits so I got one myself.

But long story short piston melted and the car will be badass when its done thanks to Jeremy

BTW: I have ran alot of nitrous in this car (at least one bottle every Sat. night sometimes 2) since Oct.

I was looking at those Mainline kits for a while now. They are pretty cheap brand new, but dont look to be the same quality solenoids that NX uses in its other kits.

Thats also a lot of juice to be sparing. Thats crazy.

RIP to the block!!!

well kinda, it will be perfect for someone putting darton sleeves, everything is well within specs on the crank side of things, just a groove in cylinder 1 at the very top. with sleeves, the whole cylinder wall will be bored out so it wont be an issue.

if anyone is looking for a bare block to get sleeved. please pm me.

dropping off the new block today at the machine shop, will probably be done by tues or wed, i will then pick it up and try to have it all back and running by the next weekend!! then, we will just have to figure out how to set up the nitrous kit safe and powerful

What are the specs of the new motor you're building?

+1 on not buying used nitrous parts. However, I would like to know what people consider as a cheap kit. My NS kit is cheap and has only been in the market a few years but there was no gimmick to it. Just basic nitrous parts for a universal kit which is made by a company that sell NOS and other nitrous products. I'm running a utec with it so it helps eliminate most of the problems that can occur while spraying. Doing some research on this kit in corvette forums, they said that the solenoids are not as good as NX because they wont take the abuse the same. What they meant about abuse was the lack of maintenance on the actual solenoids. People have told be that the most critical maintenance on a nitrous kit is inspecting the solenoids plunger, seals and wiring. Even in my kits instructions it says to inspect these items along with the feed screens after emptying about four bottles. How many people that spray do this?

I'll admit that NX is the best kit, but without proper maintenance it will fail as well...just not as soon.

Now, get this monster built!

Im not too sure why some of you feel so poorly about buying used parts. If they are in working condition and you inspect and test them before putting them on your car, then whats the difference from them being on your car already and your just testing them like you should. Im fine with stating that I am purchasing used nitrous parts. I have no problem with this, but understand that I will be looking at the solenoids very carefully, if not purchasing a rebuild for them. But thats pretty cheap anyways.
