Question newb to nitrous, got some questions

so im pretty sure i want to go with a nitrous setup over a turbo or s/c, mainly because i have the extra power only when i want it. now for some questions,
1. how much does shops usually charge to install the basic kit, plus run gauges, purge, the tps switch, bottle opener and bottle heater?. i know its a pretty straight forward install, but i feel more confortable with a shop doing it incase any problems arrise.
2. should there be any fuel additions with running a 75-100 shot, such as injectors or a fuel pump, i have a plenum spacer, test pipes, exhaust, and intake so i know on the air side of things i have plenty.
3.If i want a reflash in the future, how does the nitrous play into that? do i just get a reflash to pull out my n/a mods, then just keep the nitrous shot the same w/o any engine management?
4. And lastly, i want to be sure 100 shot is safe for the motor, so there isnt any additional ecu controllers (J&S safeguard, safc, utec) that is a necessity right now?

1. I'm not sure as I did the install myself.

2. Short answer. No. You'll be running a Wet kit and the extra fuel will be mixed with the n2o at the nozzle.

3. You won't need Engine management at a 75 shot but possible have to pull a degree of timing at a 100 shot. I highly recommend engine management for anything over a 75 shot.

4. Again, for a 100 Shot I would use Engine Management. Some people don't but I do. I use a UTEC and had a 2nd map made just for nitrous. It's a good overall tune + pulls the timing I need for my 125 shot. I am making 350whp and 422wtq. I'd say stick to a 75 shot without engine management.

Additional Info:

1. Get a step colder plug. NGK Makes a great one.
2. Either get a nitrous pressure gauge on the tank, or get a system to put on on the dash or pillar.
3. Get a bottle Heater > You will be disappointed without it.
4. Check out Dynotune Products

If you want any dynotune products PM me. I'm trying to put a group buy together for everything you'll need. As for your Q's, skwid is right on. If you have time, do the install yourself. It's really not that bad at all. I know once you get everything in front of you it's a little over whelming, but if you do one thing at a time, you'll be fine.

Exactly... You can completely remove nitrous from a vehicle in a couple of hours taking your time.

id recomend a warmer. bottle temps drop drastically after the first spray. PV=nrt says that since v,r are constant and t,n drop then p must drop accordingly. delta p= delta n * delta t, if you raise the temperature with a heater then p can remain at the desired level. 900-1050 psi.

but yeah i just reallllyyy dont want to do something wrong....its my daily driver and i have no backup as of now,i feel confortable with a shop doing it if its gonna be cost effective, if its something over 500 then ill strongly consider doing it myself but under that it just seems a little safer letting someone with experience do it. i want to pretty much get the basic kit for now and run a 75-100 shot, then add the accessories after the nitrous is already installed, well see what happens after i get quotes though.

If you're a real newbie, I recommend a shop just to help u install the basic kit. As you learn u can add the necessary additional components yourself, i.e. the J&S, window switch, fuel pressure cutoff switch, 1 step colder plugs, etc. No fuel enrichment is necessary up to 125 hp in my opinion, ran 125 myself with some bigger fuel jets and a J&S Ultra, destroyed an 06 single turbo droptop Z three X in a row, would have gone for the 4th time but my brakes went to the floor, he didn't know what hit him.

Power on demand rules....and DO NOT listen to the BS, you need a warmer, b/c without it your pressure will drop once you hit the bottle one or two times in a row......I like Zex, but recommend an NX bottle warmer b/c it also reads pressure and heats accordingly, unlike a Zex warmer which shuts off based on temperature. As for the gauge, you need it for safety reasons, and to see what pressure u are running when u are running against someone, and for safety reasons. Good luck.

ive run one nitrous system on my friends car and took about a whole day, but i just didnt know with the window switch and all the other electronics his kit didnt have hiow much harder it would be. and his was a dry kit. im only planning on running a 75 -100 shot, nothing more so im assuming the ecu will be able to add enough fuel at 100 and not start knocking. all the accessories seem pretty easy to install, its just the basic kit that i want to get installed + the window switch. everything else i feel confident doing. you guys really are helping me out alot though, thanks.

You really need to make sure you run a WET kit, and if you want a simple install, try ZEX, their stuff is perfect for newbies, and it installs relatively easily.

mine will ill cut you a hell of a deal if you are serious about going nitrous
Zex kit
Heater
purge kit
blowdown tube
dynotune window switch
Innovate wide-band a/f gauge w/ new sensor
Dyno tune digital nitrous gauge
Fuel Pressure sensor
cubby hole 2-gauge pod

thats what i ran on my kit, for a generally safe kit, zex or nx kit, heater, WOT switch(zex has this built in) pressure gauge, dyno reading of a/f or wideband, one step colder plugs

Dynotune's bottle heater also works on pressure to turn on and off.

Wckdclw...... after seeing your post, if you just want to start off simple, I can work something for you. Let me know.
