Default Nitrous, Wet Vs. Dry and why?

So after reading what I believe is every post in the nitrous section, I still have no idea why everyone reccomends the wet shot vs the dry. Everyone I talk to says the dry shot is the way to go to stay conservative (only looking for 100 shot). They also say that there can be issues by injecting fuel before the MAF. What am I missing? I think I wanna do a dry kit. Does anyone have any experience with a dry shot? Oh i have a 2006 Base model w/ Manual Gearbox and 10k Miles.

there is no dry kit for the Z. and also, there is a huge sticky that addresses everything I could ever think of.

off forum research might help as well.... but simply, no.

Dry is just stupid on a 350z IMO because It could be difficult to trick the fuel system. You definatly do not inject a wet system before the MAF... You only inject a DRY system before the MAF.
I dunno as I am not an expert but I run a 125 Wet Shot and it kicks the **** out of you.

350whp, and 442wtq.

But here is a link to a good explanation.

Thx for the help. I was worried about the fuel puddling associated with a wet kit. I did realize there were ways of getting the fuel further down in the engine. I just wanted a cheap and simple bolt on, which is why I was thinking dry. Time to pay to play I guess.

Puddling is always a risk but knock on wood I havn't had any problems. I am using the stock plenum, UTR Polished Z Tube, and a JWT Pop Charger.

I had the 125 shot tuned and I hover around a 10 A/F when on the juice. 10lb bottle lasts a good while if you just use it at the track.. It just gets into your pocket at 3+ Dollars a Pound.

You can sink some money into the setups also. For instance I have a fuel pressure safety switch, UTEC Engine Management, Autometer NEXUS Gauges, PTP Fuel Tap, NX Wet Kit, Step Colder NGK plugs, etc... My Entire setup was about $2200 dollars. Then I paid another $300 for a map for the 125 shot. The only real maintenance I do is pull the plugs before track day and check/replace them, and inspect the plenum. Easy maintenance after a good detail job.

I run a about a 12.5 1/4 with this setup and some slicks. It's easy to get addicted to the torque snap of nitrous. The only other upgrade I recommend is a new clutch.

But if you have the money and want an easy install, STS's new turbo kit for the 350z is a great alternative. It can be dialed in at about 350whp/350tq and can be gotten for about $6500 dollars installed.... I am seriously looking at this for myself and have contacted Bobby @ CIN Motorsports in NC...

Good Luck.
