I have a zex kit. Is it safe to run a 75 shot on a stock Z just have a k&n typhoon cold air intake and 5/16 plenum. I have heard you have to adjust timing. New to Nitrous

since you know youre new to nitrous, why not read the sticky? its not hard and would have answered your question and youd learn a lot more as wel.

A Zex 75 shot on a Z is very safe since the shot is rated at the crank, not the wheels. As with every form of FI, you cant use it ALL the time or things will come apart.

75 shot is fine its not 150. These turbos and superchargers getting 8 plus lbs and they are not blowing up well most of them but anyways 75 is not a whole lot just do right the first time and even with a 75 shot I would still probably put a 1 heat range colder spark plug and make it cooper that doesnt hurt.

I've being running 75shot for the past two years. Not issues. As with anything be safe and take the necessary precautions.

P.S When I got my nitrous kit I spent a lot of time reading the sticky and searching the forum like CUxtopher mentioned. A lot of good info out there. If you're thinking it chances are someone has already written about it.

I agree- their are to many people blowing up their engine these days!! Read lots of material and play it safe at first until you get used to the performance increase. Force induction is bad-*** until it turns catastrophic.

zex is a very week shot, zex measures there gains at the crank and not the wheels......so yes, a 75 shot would be perfectly fine. i dont even see a need for tuning nor retarding your timing. just grab one step colder plugs and call it a day

Study the mathematics concerning how imaginary HP was created, an adaptation of torque vs rpm and you will better understand limits.

Since the volume from the jet is constant, all that varies is the rpm or NOX quantity PER GULP [each cylinder filling].

A 75 HP jet might create 65 lb/ft at 6,000 rpm and 130 lb/ft at 3,000 rpm and 260 lb/ft at 1500 rpm.

Engaging NOX at too low an rpm is the STRESSOR.

Why multivibrator type pulsed solenoids are used as flow valves to control NOX vs rpm to lessen low rpm stress and not smoke the rear tires on launch wasting time.

Ran a 75 shot for over 3 years and no problems. As with any power adder, doing your homework is very important. Search the nitrous threads and do it right the first time. Good luck.
