i finally broke into the 12's i ran a 12.8 at 108. http://youtube.com/watch?v=ye_4w6kdsM4 i bought nitto extreme drag radials today and put them on my stockers first time on drag radials im gonna need a clutch asap before i ever run again.

You were launching on drag radials tonight then? It sounds/looks like you were. You should definitely launch higher than whatever you were doing with a good burnout. Of course, this means that your ET can be improved. I know you're on stock clutch, but you could still feather it out to achieve a better time.
Why did you choose the Nitto DR's and what size?
Can you provide a timeslip?
At any rate, not bad. Hope to see better times from you.

275 45 17 thats the size. i got the nittos because they last pretty long and the shop i got my bottle filled had them for about 150 a piece and i needed a tires really bad so i bought them. i actually launched at about 5,200 rpm but my clutch is so bad it slips. the first motor pass tonite i was slippin bad it stunk so bad . and as for the timeslip i can but not till tomorrow i gotta get my friend to do it my camera wont focus. the vid isnt good enough???

I've heard the opposite - they do not last long compared to the other DRs (I think it was either that or they don't hook as well). At any rate, I heard these were not worth the money they go for, but if $150 is a good price for you, then I'm sure you're happy with them. Plus, any DR > street tires any day.
Like I said, launch higher.
The vid isn't clear as to exactly what times you ran (although I can make it out), but the main problem was that I can't update the list with the 60' (which you provided in the other thread and I updated accordingly). The main reason I asked for timeslip was to analyze and study for myself.
Also, what RPM are you beginning to juice and when's the cut off? I'm guessing you sprayed out of the hole.

the window activates at 3000 to 6500. oh dont worry ill be launchin a lot higher once i put my clutch in. but its not bad for a 75 shot wit a slipping clutch. hopefully tomorrow ill post the timeslip.

i heard from a lot of domestic guys that they last longer but there not the most stickiest dr but they did pretty well for me but oh well u will always hear opposites and pros and cons on any product.

Maybe that's what it was (not sticky but lasts long). It was one or the other. At any rate, I didn't like the Nitto NT555 ZR Extreme (street tires), so I'm not a big fan of Nittos to begin with.
Damn, you're spraying from 3000k? That's a bit rough on your engine. I'd bump that up a little if I were you, just in case. That's a lot of stress (torque) on your components. And shutting off at 6500. I'd bump that down just in case something were to happen and it doesn't shut off exactly at 6500 - can't be too careful.
And don't get me wrong. You did well. Just saying there's much room for improvement yet. I always tell myself that to get better times at the strip - worked for me.

yea i im know theres room for improvement but until i get a new clutch im not goin to the track. but thanks. and for the rpm activation, i hear 3000 about the rpm u activate well atleast nothing lower. and i have a wot switch that controls the power to the solonoids and the rpm activator controls the ground so if im not in 3000-6500 the activator cuts the ground and if im not 95 or 100% wot the wot switch cuts the power so its pretty safe.

3000 is said to be the lower bound, but that's exactly what it is, a limit. I wouldn't play on the edges.
I knew you probably had safety equipment, but I was just saying that maybe one time you weren't paying attention and hit the rev limiter and it also happened to be the day when your solenoid decided to malfunction.
Maybe it's just me, but I like being safe. Your car, so your call, though.

Well, from what I can see in your video, you bogged a little off the line (again, clutch issue, but still fixable with practice and if you're willing to cook up your clutch a little).
From the way it sounds, I think you could try to improve your shifts a little more. They are quick, but there's still room for even faster shifts. Your 1-2 is pretty good though, for what it's worth.

the only mods i got is a nismo cai and a nismo catback with nitto drag radials. ive beaten stis and evos before did u run them on a roll or a dig?? i never got tuned or dynoed not planning on it till i get some other mods then ill either get a utec or haltech.

alberto the 60ft on the radials were 2.0 but the drag radials i bought i think there a lil to big for my set up there 275 45 17. so my clutch slipps like crazy now when i launch even trying to feather it out of the hole i tried last nite a few times . im might bring it to the track next week, but goin to the track is damn expensive its like 80 plus dollars every time i go. lol
#38
How is your set up too big? Do you mean too wide? It's not THAT wide, but you could go a bit thinner on the tread width.
How did you do last night?
BTW, what are the events you're attending? It shouldn't cost you $80 to go to a drag strip. Find test and tune days and go to those (don't go to bracket racing or other events).

lol when i said 80 thats 40 to fill the bottle 20 for gas and 20 for entry for test and tune lol. i didnt mean for the entry lol. and i might need some more gas to get back home depending on how much i use at the track. lol im a poor 20yr old mechanic. oh well.
last nite?????

That's nothing. I drive 88 miles there and then another 88 miles back. Figure the gas price for the drive alone + those spent on racing @ $4.2x/gal. Then there's the entry fee of $15.
There's only 2 places around here that refill nitrous bottles and it's $2.99 per lb at the cheapest place.
At the track I go, they have certain days when nitrous is free (1 bottle per racer).
