Default ZEX specail

Looking for an N20 kit,saw the pn#82021 on the ZEX website, free shipping and bottle guage for $599. Is this a decent kit for the money versus the DYNOTUNE kit ? It's going on an all stock 2004 G35 6mt Coupe...Thanks sprayers. TT

I am looking for peoples opinions on the zex kit or the dynotune kit. I have a completely stock g35 6mt wanting to shot a 75 shot. Will change out plugs to copper, 1 step colder and thats it. Just wondering on peoples luck with either off these kits and/or if they upgraded to others because of different limiting factors with either? Dynotune seems to have their sh*t together but you have to piece it together yourself? TT

I'm not educated on the 350Z world and nitrous, but when going with nitrous, I'd consult a tuner to make sure everything is safe before just swapping plugs and spraying it.. I know a 75 shot isn't a monster and you'd probably be fine.. but I'd rather be safe than sorry.. Plus, a tune will help the car out anyway.

I went with the complete ZEX kit a year and a half ago, including purge, bottle heater, pressure gauge, colder plugs, and a window switch.
I like everything about the ZEX products except the ZEX Window switch.
The first one lasted several months until it shorted out,
The 2nd one, replaced under warranty, lasted 1 spray.
The 3rd one I just got before a drag race a week ago and it was DOA. So I couldn't run the nitrous at the track.

I ran a 75 shot for half a year with no engine management and had no problems.
Then I got a UTEC and had it mapped for the 75 and it ran much better with a tune.
I recommend some sort of EMS to get the most out of any size shot.

I'm now running the 150 shot (67 nitrous jet / 32 fuel jet) with a full UTEC tune.
I won't know how well the car runs until I get a new window switch.
There's no way in hell I'll try running a 150 shot without a window switch.
I want to keep my motor in one piece.

Not for the ZEX kits, 67 is 150hp.
But every company has their own idea of size to HP rating.

Here the jet sizes and ratings from the ZEX website:

6 CYL. EFI WET SYSTEM
- - - - - - - Jet Sizes
HP Rating - FUEL / N20
55hp ------ 17 / 32
65hp ------ 19 / 36
75hp ------ 21 / 40
100hp ----- 26 / 46
125hp ----- 30 / 54
150hp ----- 38 / 67

I have the Zex kit and very happy with it....keep in mind those are hp#'s not WHP #'s so if you're looking for an exact whp increase you'll have to do the math.
If I'm not mistaken with the UTEC you can set the rpm window.

When I had the 75hp setup, it was an actual 76hp to the wheels with a UTEC tune. I posted dyno graphs about it.
But the 150hp shot only came out around 105hp to the wheels.
So it just depends on the car and setup, and a tune.

I did the firmware update on the UTEC, and the rpm window option doesn't work, which TurboXS is fully aware of and hasn't fixed yet.
(Yes, I know I can reflash, but I had already purchased the window switch before the UTEC)
ZEX thinks they figured out my window switch issue and they are sending me a new one with an inline resistor wire that should fix the problem.
I Hope

No kit is better than another, per se. It's mostly based on personal preference, how much you're willing to spend, what kind of accessories if any you want, etc.

Just do your research and get the necessary and appropriate parts, then piece your kit together. No single kit will have everything you need, so there will be some shopping around required to get all the goodies.
