Default Finished nitrous install on my 07' Nismo Z

So I finally got it finished tonight. Had a wiring issue. Stupid really. The hot wire going to the silenoids was pushed in too far when I crimped the quick disconnect and it was crimped on the insulation instead of the wires so it wasn't making a good enough connection to engage. Got that taken care of. Now I just need to connect the two wires for the bottle warmer. I ran it tonight with a cold bottle just to make sure everything was working right. Well, needless to say even with low pressure (I'm guessing around 600-650psi) it still pulled really hard. I had a little clutch slipage when I hit third so I'm going to change the fluid over to synthetic tomorrow and hook up the bottle warmer and test it again. I'll be racing it at MIR this sunday if anyone wants to come out. Couple of my friends are going to be there. One has a sick turbo chevy tahoe with an LS engine in it, another with a Evo 9 MR with some things done, another with a MazdaSpeed 6 with a tune and upgraded turbo, and last with an 04' Cobra with underdrive pulley. I'm hoping to run a 12.4 or so with a 100 shot on stock tires and stock clutch. Hopefully I'm not asking for much lol.

Very nice. What shot are you going to use at the track?

This is actually my second car with nitrous...and second install. Myself and my oldest brother did both. It was way more of a PITA on the Z then my old car. I had a 2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R SpecV with full header back exhaust and CAI with a 75 shot of NX that ran a 13.321@102.xxmph with slicks. I'm running a 75 shot right now. Just got the bottle heater and digital gauge hooked up so it pulls ALOT harder now then without it. Just imagine the difference from 550 psi or so to 1050psi. I have some videos of it on my myspace page. I will put a link to my myspace page for all you addicts out there in my signature. I'll try to get some picture today. It's a home install so it's not the best, wiring everywhere inside because I just wanted to get it done and test it to make sure everything was good. Plus I'll be getting the Dynotune switches next week and then I can run all the lines properly and hide them. I'm actually taking it to the track for the first time this sunday. So if anyone in the Mid-Atlantic region is interested I'll be at MIR ( www.mirdrag.com) this sunday with a couple buddies so come on out and say hi.

haha, yeah I ran last night. I really don't want to say my times because I'm rather embarrased lol. I will anyways. I ran a 13.22@108.65mph with a 2.1x 60' and I think an 8.6 1/8 mile at 88mph. This is the first time at the track with the nitrous and I don't have a purge. When I dyno'd it a couple of days before it was only putting an extra 40hp and 40tq at the wheels...due to the stock clutch is not holding it. I smoke checked the stock clutch a couple times at the track trying to launch at too high of an RPM and sliding the clutch out fast. So I just ordered a new clutch (JWT clutch and lightened flywheel). Plus it's running pig rich, 10.2 on the dyno. I am ok with the trap speed, although I was thinking more along the lines of 110-111mph for a 75 shot on a HR. But my best NA run was 13.51@103.xx. I was scared to launch it too hard because I only have a TPS under my accelerator so if I push it too far it activates and I don't want that at 2K rpms lol. New clutch, and another dyno run with the 100 shot this time and make sure it's not running lean or too rich and I'll be back at the track homefully two weekends from now to test it again. I'm too lazy to search, but I wonder what other HR owners are running (speed wise) with a 75 shot?

You can tell a huge difference on the street with the nitrous. Second gear pulls really hard. But if you hit it in first then hit second like you would at the track you will roast the tires all the way through second gear...and pass Mustang GT's sideways lmao.

hahaha at the pass mustang GTs sideways comment! good trap , im sure with practice you'll get way better results, i havent seen other HRs running the 1/4 with spray thats why i was waiting 2 see what your results were. I just find it weird that it only gave you an additional 40hp and tq, not only is that low for a 75 shot but the torque gain should be higher than the hp . do u think putting your stock intakes back on would help any?

I figure that the stock clutch not holding (due in part to my beating the crap out of it at the track lol) is the culprit to this. I literally saw the tach fly over and hold of a second on the second run....which means that the clutch slipped REALLY bad. Plus it was running rich (10.2 AFR). Better results soon though. I'm almost thinking about saying screw it and selling the whole kit with the Nismo Dual CAI's and going back to stock. Then doing my 93' 240sx hb up for a sick drag car. Plus I'm looking at buying a house this spring. I still want to put twins on the Z but that's alot of money that I could put down on a house. We'll see how this pans out....

yea its prob the clutch just change it and then run again you'll do way better .put the stock intakes on and see if there is a difference dont sell the nitrous kit you could always use it for other applications. dang buying a house is a big step buying a TT kit is def gonna put a lil hold on getting a house lol

Yeah, I'm trying to be smart about it and get a house...but the TT is so damn tempting lol. I think right now is a good time to buy a house though so we'll see.

13.5 is a good time for bone stock especially considering your first time at the track. congrats on your times.
