Default NOS install

hey just needed to know a few opinions on this.... i am looking at a NOS kit for my all stock Z and the dealer i am goin through who will also install it for me said a 100 shot will be completly safe and thats on a dry kit. he also sed i didnt need a MSD unless i wanted to do a bigger shot. he went on to say that the MSD is a great buy tho but not necessary. i know there a few juiced Zs out there jsut want to know what the deal is... also i have planned to purge out of my Z badges on my fenders let me know what u think of that

DO NOT RUN A DRY KIT!!! Especially with a shot that large. You will create an incredibly lean condition and you will experience detonation and eventually you will cook your pistons. Trust me. Get a wet kit. You can 150 shot with a wet kit no problem.

I would rethink your purge idea too. Two reasons. 1 - atomized nitrous oxide on your paint is not the best thing in the world. 2 - most importantly, the purpose of the purge is to clear out air in the line and see that you have fresh nitrous at the solenoid so you know once you spray, you're not just spraying fuel for a split second causing a rich condition and a slight hesitation and stutter. The key word there is SEE. The popular place is up on to the windshield because you can see once nitrous and not just air is being purged so you can stop purging and wasting horsepower but know that all the air is out.

i am going to be 100% honest with you..... when i was thinkin of my purge idea it was all about show i had no clue it really did that much.... i knew it was to let a fresh spray but i thought i would just be able to spray it newhere and it will be fine, i was also thinking about my front bumper where those 2 holes are for the front plate let me know.... so 100 shot with a dry kit is out of the question, this guy was telling me about runnin a 200 shot on his IS300 all day no prob and now hes runnin a 100 shot, and it was all stock. i asked him first about the wet system and since i am in the market for the procharger the dry kit will be best for that whole set up as well, i have a few weeks before my app. tho i will go back to the place and have a talk with my guy and see whats up, but i know i wanted to wet kit form the start he talked me out of it thanks for ur info tho...

Bottom line is the wet kit is a self contained nitrous kit. You can add it to anything. You don't have to worry about FPR's or injectors or programming. When I eventually go FI, I will keep the spray on my car, and I'll reroute the purge to my intercooler. With a wet kit, you change the shot by changing the pills in the fogger. More nitrous, more fuel. Plain and simple. I know a place not too far from CT to get it done and they are the best. It's in westchester, where I got mine done. They are an infinite source of knowledge. PM if you might be interested in contacting them.

As far as purging out the bumper, bare in mind that the end of the purge line needs to be securely fastened. it's not a plastic tube, it's either a brass bump tube or a stainless steel line. Again, someplace where you can see what is being purged is the best idea. I know it looks cool and it's fun to have it in an interesting place, but think about this. Why purge for other people's enjoyment? That's a waste of horsepower!!

The Lexus IS300 may have the 500cc fuel injectors that the Supras have (same inline engine) and could possibly support a dry 200 shot. No way the Z would handle 100 dry very well. It might for awhile, but the 320cc (approx.) injectors the Z has are much too small to try to run a dry shot.
