Default dealerships and nitrous

I own a 2006 G35 5AT with 10K miles with no performance mods. So it's a VQ35DE, not the HR. Since i know the 350z forums have more knowledge regarding nitrous, i've decided to post here.

I've read the beginner's thread several times and a lot of other nitrous threads on the forums. I'm a big planner so i haven't done any mods until i know exactly where i'll end up. My proposed mods and use for nitrous will probably be another thread so this one doesn't go off track.

So i'm still under powertrain warranty and was wondering what dealerships look for as far as denying warranty claims due to nitrous. Are there ways to install it, and then if I have engine or tranny problems that may or may not be related to spraying, is there a way to uninstall with no evidence remaining? Once they look at the engine or computer could they tell? I guess the first challenge would be explaining the mounting holes in the trunk (or is there a way to mount less invasively?). I figured maybe i could explain it by saying i had to mount something else, such as a cabinet for a gun (i am in texas FYI). Then i'd have to go back with the stock intake which wouldn't have a hole for the spray, and conceal where i ran the switch through to the cabin (would the nav cubby be good?) It may be dishonest, but since powertrains can fail without nitrous, and mine very well may fail due to a non-nitrous problem, they would automatically blame nitrous use regardless and deny my claim.

Any suggestions or is this feasible? Thank you!

I'm sure during the teardown they would do an inspection of your engine. So there would probably be a trace of color left from the nitrous. Ever seen the cylinder walls of a sprayed motor? Alot of discoloration. That would be my only suggestion as to how they may find out the motor used nitrous. Also they wouldn't need to go into the trunk so if they did keep some extra luggage around when you go.

ya they can swab it or just look at it. and nissan is so stingy with its warranties they'll pin anything they can on any mod they can. they tried to deny me a MAF sensor because i had an aftermarket catback..... explain to me how that has anything to do with anything

I also plan on doing the same. I'm going to build an intake pipe to plumb the nozzle, but I'm going to keep my stock intake just incase. How much do you plan on spraying?

If they ever tear down your engine, then they can definitely tell that you've been spraying by looking at the cylinder walls.

Nitrous installs are rather simple (relative and subjective), so you can always uninstall everything and install everything when the time comes. As far as the mounting holes for the bottle, they wouldn't know what that was for. You can also get a wooden board and mount the bottle onto that also, placing the board some place where it wouldn't be affected by turns or acceleration. And if you're worried about the hole in your intake, you can always get a Z-tube (supposedly better than the G's tube, too) and drill a hole there while saving your stock tube. Everything else should be done in a similar fashion (using something that's easily replaceable or uninstalled).
