Default New Zex nitrous install w/pics

Here's my new nitrous install. It's the Zex kit that is specific to the Z. I also added on a Zex remote open, Zex purge kit, Zex bottle heater, MSD digital window switch, and a Autometer electric nitrous pressure gauge on the a pillar. Thanks to those that helped out in the threads I started and the old threads that I searched in. It's not quite as nicely installed as some but it will get the job done.

Not bad.

Just curious. Why'd you choose those places for bottle (lose trunk space), MSD switch (weird location), and the buttons (arm might hit them accidentally)?

I put the bottle there to keep it off to the side and still have it in a position that the instructions wanted. The MSD was put there so I can adjust the on and off rpms whenever I wanted to since I'm not sure if I will keep it there or if I will move them around a little. It's attached to the side with some velcro so I can pull it off and adjust easily and not getting under the hood or into some special hiding spot. The buttons were going into the cubby where the smart people put them, but I wasn't trying to hide them so I put them somewhere easily reached, and they are, except that my elbow does reach them on accident sometimes while I drive. But only barely so I will keep them there.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I wish I could tell you how much I love it, but I won't get a chance to get nitrous for awhile. My R&R is over and I'm heading back East. Not to mention that I just found out that nitrous is illegal here in Germany.

Looks really good man. Hows the power feel when you use it? I'm just assuming you had to have used it atleast once by now haha

Power feels great. I just recently upgraded the heater to the Dyno Tune one and it's a bunch better than the Zex. It used to take forever to get to 900psi with the Zex on a full bottle. Now with the Dyno Tune, it gets to 1050 in no time. It was harder to hook up the wiring, but well worth the effort.

Looks good, i'm also installing a Zex wet kit on my 05 350Z. Where did you get the pillar gauges, they look good and I want to do the same thing but can't seem to find any.

I think I bought one in the classifieds on here and one off of ebay. It's been awhile. There is also double and triple pods for the pillars. I got one and installed it and then later bought another one and installed it. I would have just went with the double if I knew I would end up with 2.

The pressure gauge I bought from Summit. It's a Autometer and it also comes in red but they were out at the time. The other is the AEM air/fuel ratio and I don't remember where I got mine but there are vendors on here and everywhere else that sells them.

Thanks for the photos! I like the management unit location. I'm going to install this kit next month.

Did you have to build a platform for the bottle brackets in the back? I’m in the process of installing my kit and want to keep the carpet and clean oem look. Wanted to do similar thing but there’s a foam piece under there and just the thin factory cover over it.
